If you have set up your email account as an IMAP account, your emails are on the server, but if you delete them on your iPad, they are also delete on the server. if you have set up your email account as a POP3 account, your emails are downloaded to your iPad ... if you delete them on your iPad, they are still on the server, so you can retrieve them. However, POP3 accounts don't show you the email folders that are on the server. You need to decide which is more important to you. On the iPad, do you want privacy (POP3) or flexibility (IMAP). A POP3 account will also continue to use up more space (memory) and not clean-up (clear) ... eventually, you will have to delete the account to try to minimize the amount of used space. Have you tried the following ? A different charger of appropriate wattage. A different charge cable. Cleaning out the charge jack/port on the iPad with a thin, non-metal brush. This can sometimes clog-up with dust and lint, blocking the contacts on the charge cable from making a good connection with the charge port. This happened to my iPhone 7. Pocket lint was clogging-up the charge port. Cleaning it out solved the problem giving me a great cable connection.
