What you got here is a 15 year old set that finally got tired of the power issues or Storm related stuff and kicked the bucket.
The issue here is the filler capacitors on the power supply probably gave way and you got this
indeterminacy with the tv. I would if i where you have a Tech look at it. the filler caps are only $15 each but the labor is where you
fork out the $$. I would estimate at least $100 bucks for the labor on this.
Many techs on here would claim change the power supply witch is way to much work and will cost you a bunch of cash. Yet they are correct because if you did that it would work as well. What you need here is a simple rebuild. If your not a tech then do not even pop open the tv trust me its not worth your health.
I been doing tv's for half a dozen years and by what your telling
fixya today it sounds like a filler capacitor (do not shoot the messenger) You got to
remember I
Can't see the tv or test it for myself. So I encourage you to have it looked at if its going to cost more then $250 you might want to consider other
alternitives.
