Toshiba 57h81 red light blinking
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Toshiba 2002 projection tv 57h81 has red light no
Hello,Projector TV's have a tube for each function e.g. Video 1, Video 2, TV. Does the TV just not work or the VCR<DVD<Game console modes not work as well? If one works and the others do not you should be able to replace that tube, module, piece.I hope this helps.
Toshiba hyper module. Vertical lines on screen.
change the 10 or so surface mounted bad filter caps in the Hyper module this set uses--the board is no longer available--it can be sent out for rebuild (not toshiba) but that is rather costly (200+)
Horizontal lines on toshiba 57H84 television until warms up
Set will have a "HYPER" BOARD causing this issue----there was a service bulletin with a photo of the board with 10 surface mounted filter caps that dry out and need to be replaced. The failing caps tend to begin to regain capacitance when hot---gradually the wait gets longer and longer.Board no longer available from Toshiba so 3 choices: replace the caps yourself (tricky and not easy) or have it sent for rebuilt to PTS electronics (about 200) or go shopping for a new set and retire this one.

HOW DO YOU SPLIT THE CABINET ON TOSHIBA TV CT-90159
Pop off front speaker grille, there are 1/4" hex screws holding the screen on, and a connector that needs to be disconnected first. The 1/4" hex screws in the back and sides along the mid section also need to be removed, then the entire top lifts off - be careful, the screen separates from the black plastic part (you might want to lift off the front screen first, that way you can be sure you have all the screws removed.) There was the black power section that was screwed in that needed to be wiggled off first, then the top just slides off easily. Easy to clean and reinstall by putting the black part on first, then sliding the screen up, over, then down onto the black plastic part. Replace all screws and reconnect the connector.

Set is in shutdown---most common reason on this model is shorted convergence IC's--set uses 2 of the STK-392-110 chips.About the only way to know is have someone get at them and unsolder all the pins on both chips---if set then turns on (will look very bad) one of the chips is bad and both must be replaced.Short of that it is a shop repair.
Tv turns on and off. no picture we do have sound
Based on model number if have sound but no brightness the set is blanking or shutting the 3 tubes off because of a problem that could damage them.Set needs to be inspected either in the home or a shop.
My 57h81 only sound is subwoofer
HelloCheck and make sure that the speakers are good. If speakers are good, suspect the power amplifier output seciton of the device.
