Toshiba TP55H60 55" Rear Projection Television - Page 3 Questions & Answers
GE 60in Big Screen(Convergence won't Align)
do you know how to solder? If you do you can redolder the two convergence IC's on the convergence board and it will probably cure your problem. These IC's usually are against a large metal heat sink they stand up and have quite a few pins on them. If you try this you need a pencil solder iron and solder and do not solder any of the pins together.
Cinemavision tv
Unfortunately, most of these projection TV's
require a remote. You CAN purchase an aftermarket remote. I would look
for one that has all the features you need, PIP, screen format etc....
I have found that the Sony RM-VL600 works real well with my Mitsubishi
TV... kids thrashed the remotes more than once...
This particular
unit has system control PROGRAMABLE buttons on the bottom row. I've
been able to program them for formatting the screen, setting audio and
video... Solved my issue of needing a factory remote.
Double image
Yes it is a convergance issue, inside the menu under settings or video you should be able to find and adjust your converg.
When turning on my panasonic cinemavision tv, it
Most likely a power supply failure although the flashing of the LED a fixed number of times may point to something else such as a lamp failure.
If you can find a forum for this series, you may find a Panasonic tech who can give you a better read on this.
Not able to adjust convergence
Hello there, its possible it is way out of adjustment where you are no longer able to see it.
I don't know if you want to play with this, because t can be very frustrating inching each line into the proper alignment and it maybe better to call a repair person and pay them and also allow them to suffer in that time consuming headache.
I hope this helps.

Broke screen
Beleave it or not I was looking on craigslist one day and found a free screen t.v said it didn't work but what I liked is the it had the same size screen as mine that my little one scratched up really bad with a toy. Monday night football was never the same again. So anyway I took a chance took the top off pulled the old screen out and put the one in from my free t.v and happy ever after. I even took as many parts from the free one apart labled them and put in boxes should I ever need spear parts.
Convergence STK ic parts?
they have a repair kit that repairs the convergence Issue with your set at the following link that has free installation instructiona as well as the resistors and ICs. Careful about Buying ICs off ebay, as you will end up getting knock off ICs and most times they are defective inferior ICs.Heres a link where you can get quality parts.

Red is way out of convergence/alignment
If the convergence adjustment is not moving the beam chances are the convergence IC(s) are defective. If you know how to solder and understand TV safety you may be able to fix it. With power disconnected remove the back. You should see two large heat sinks with large ICs (3 by 6 inches) with about 30 leads going through the circuit board. Numbers on the ICs should usually be something like STKxxx-xxx or some variation with x being a number. These ICs control the position of the three beams. If they go bad you can't adjust one or more beams. Replace them both as you don't want to get in there again in 3 months. Cost is not that much. http://www.tritronicsinc.com or http://www.partstore.com should have them at a reasonable price. Before replaceing the ICs look at the circuit board closly for cracked solder joints. Resoldering any bad joints might just solve your problems and avoid replacing the ICs. Good luck and remember safety.
No picture,good sound
If everything else works - there is sound and high voltage (static on the screen) - but there is no picture (including no on-screen menus), this limits the likely area of problems is the video output circuitry or CRT filament connections. Check to see if the CRT filaments are glowing. If they are not glowing, check for bad soldering on the CRT neck board and around the flyback transformer.
Where the picture is erratic - coming and going entirely or changing brightness suddenly, with power off, remove the picture tube socket (carefully!) and clean the pins with fine sandpaper and use contact cleaner on the socket. This source of bad connections can result in a variety of erratic symptoms. Check for bad solder connections on the CRT neck board
Blue shadows/ghosts
how old is the tv ??
if this tv is older than 5 years it may need to refill the liquid on the proyection bulbs and/or could have contaminats in the fluid causing the ghost and to fix that you will need a professional person to do it

Well let see if we can talk you thu "grayscaling " a set, first remove the speaker grill and the front cover to expose the screen/focus controls these will be six controls mounted on a plastic looking box, next turn the set on and get a good signal, Then from the custmer menu simpley go the the pix settings and turn the color all the way down, next use the screen controls to make the pix the best black and white you can. Next turn to a input that has no signal and the pix should be black, if there are small retrace lines simply turn down that color till it goes away , then back to a signal source that should still have a good black and white pix. Put everything back together and turn the color back up
Tp55h60
flyback transformer it's about 150 bucks.
