Flash wont pop out
It won't pop out in certain exposure modes, like manual. Try it on auto. If not, GENTLY try to pry it up - sometimes they get stuck from dirt of being hit.
Why do i get memory card error and format error on my camera
Hi Tami,
Many people experience similar problem but the cause may be different. One of the main cause is an infection by a virus when you connect your camera (SD card) to a computer. All you need to do to find out is - connect the SD card using a card reader to a computer with working virus program and scan it, than try to reformat. If you receive a pop-up message that the card cannot be formatted, you are doomed. Get a replacement card.
DMC TZ6 System Error (FOCUS)
Ty Price - thank you! I bought a DMC FX580 off eBay, untested, for $7 + $3 shipping, just for the heck of it. You never know, it could work, right? So I ordered a battery and charger, popped the fully charged battery in, and found it had the dreaded "System Error (FOCUS)"
I decided to Google the problem, and ended up on fixya. I read your suggestions, followed every one in detail and in order, and finally won the lottery with your last suggestion.
I played with the lens by keeping it from extending, preventing it from retracting, and finessing everything in between. I felt for 'give' and when I felt it, I went with it. Three click/snap events with no result, then on the fourth click/snap... wah-lah! I had the screen back, and all functions now work perfectly.
I'm much more comfortable working with things mechanical than things electronic, so I'm delighted that I was able to use physical manipulation to fix this fancy little camera.
That was so much fun - thank you again!
Lens cover will not open?
Send it to a Panasonic repair center. If it's under warranty still, then it should be covered. If not , they will give you an estimate.
Tz10 lens cover sticking
My TZ10 problem was the opposite, the cover wouldn't open. I just resorted to surgery with needle-nose pliers and a carefully wielded Stanley knife, and removed the cover completely without opening up the camera or the lens assembly. No big deal not having a lens cover, the thing lives in a leather case and it doesn't take a moment to wipe the lens with a tissue if it gets dusty. The camera is 4 years old anyway. Solved by 'amputation'.
How do I connect with wifi my Lumix DC vario to my Macbook Air so I can download images?
To be able to put something on a computer setting up a connection a;one is not enough. It is like connecting a cable. If you don't have a program to get the pictures from the connected device it newer will work.
Always first install the software, then connect the device. Like with an USB cable and device. Check if Panasonic put some software on the disk that came with the camera.
Perhaps even the software to manage your pictures (over USB) will work.
