click start, right click devices and printers , click open, right click printer image, click trouble shoot, follow instructions, If no joy and you have the disc, remove from the hard drive and reinstall .

check for a damaged sensor that reports for either fault (am or no paper )

Because your printer probably thinks they are in colour. Check the settings on your print process.

Hi Vallarie Verify that the phone connector on the wall can carry a phone call! Connect a phone & prove that you can dial out. Remove phone. Use a short phone cable to plug in to the Printer then into the phone connector on the wall. Put the printer in fax mode, then use the printer keyboard to dial a phone number. If that works, your almost there. Scan a document & send to the phone number. If that dials out... OK. Then try sending to a phone number with a known Fax machine at the other end. When the two fax machines start communicating through "tones" then the document will be sent as a Fax. Check to see if you have dialtone

It has to be because print heads are dirty. I find it is best to use the printer every few days whether you need it or not. Just print a test page to keep your ink from drying it the heads.

have you tried sliding the paper guide out of the way.

Try holding down the stop/reset button on the printer for 5 seconds. It should clear the empty ink cartridge message.
