Is there any indication whether the batteries will charge? First is check whether it gets power. It may be batteries. If it comes with a charger/power supply does it come on when attached to that.? If it does not come on is there any indication whether the tablet is getting power. If there is an indication then the batteries are gone or the power switch is faulty or the board in the tablet has gone.
It is a matter of eliminating the possibilities

According to Verizon support:
"From the Device to a Removable SD Card This feature is not available on the Verizon Ellipsis 7 Tablet"
However, you can transfer photos from the tablet to a computer; and then you can transfer them to a removable SD card if you have an external USB SD card port reader or one that's PC integrated.
According to Verizon customer support:
From the Device to a Computer
Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
If necessary, select and hold the status bar (at the top) then drag to the bottom.
Select Connected as a camera / an installer.
Select Media device (MTP).
Launch Windows Explorer.
Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( +E) keys.
Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explore.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate: QMV7A.
If you have a microSD card, you may transfer files to that location by navigating: QMV7A > SD Card.
Utilize the computer to copy video/picture files from the following folders to the preferred folder(s) on the computer:
Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( 
+E) keys.
