Not only is it less expensive than Norton, it uses less system resources while doing more to defend your computer. Please, do yourself a favor and do not touch Symantec's products. Right now the majority of them are viruses in themselves.

GHO file extension can only be opened with Norton Ghost, and restored on an hard drive, after extraction you can save data on optical support using any CD burner software.

Just go to the location where the anti virus set up files and extracted files are present . Just delete the entire folder thats enough to remove it .

to enable your norton again, you must have a updated product key for your norton and you must be connected to the internet for activation of your norton.

I recommend cleaning your temporary files. To do this, in internet explorer, click tools, internet options. from there, you want to delete all your temporary internet files.

Your best bet is to go to CNET.com and download a program named Revo Uninstaller. It's free and will clear out everything down to the depths of the registry.

If even Revo doesn't see it, I would reload Norton on your system, then uninstall with Revo.

try to check it on CMOS setup, and see if ur HDD is detected there, then also check the jumper settings of your HDD, is it connected as master drive, or slave, then check other devices jumper settings for CDROM or other HDD connected to your PC. (do this for initial troubleshooting)

there are 2 posibilities:
1. It's probably that your computer has been infected by a virus, try to format your flash drive on another computer.
2. The file probably a software to autorun portable apps on your flash drive, such as U3. It's not a problem

I suggest not using norton. Goto www.avast.com and use the Free home-edition. Set your windows firewall back to defaults after norton is uninstalled.

Make sure to have Avast scan every file on your system. You very well maybe infected.

Please do not think norton is all that great because you payed for it. Get Avast.
