Factory reset without a remote
HelloYou have to select the Custome Setup Window to make a Factory Default option to this set. Without its remote control, it is not possible to select the custom setup window.
Remote does nothing and I have replaced batteries.
I have a coby DVD player too.My remote didn't etheir.I fix mine by take a sharp knife pride it open and take it aparts,take some Q tips dipping it with some rubbing alchachol clean the PCB and take a rag with some WD40 rust cleaner clean the - + batteries connections and than i used a soldering iron resolders the - + batteries connections and wait like 20 mins put in brand new batteries.The remote work again.If u can do all that 80-90% the remote will be working again 10% wouldn't because the CPU chip itself it shorted and dead.Or try website like Remotes.com to buy an orginal remote for the replacement.

You should find out if it happens with all of your DVDs. If it does then you can purcahse a DVD /c CD player cleaner. It is a disc that you insert that is built special to clean the lens as it rotates.
My Coby DVD-514 will not
you have to unplug the dvd player open it up then remove the face, it should have two screws on each side.after you have done that look under the dc draw you will see a gear spin it counter clock wise then the tray will come out.when it reach aout half way lok inside wher the try was ther should be a belt replace. if it looks ok just pull the tray all the way out and back in shoud set it good luck
Dvd player is not recognizing disc after working
if it is happening to all disc including to those that previously work, maybe time to replace the player or get it repaired. However, you can try to use a lens cleaner first, or you can also try to disassemble the player if you can, then make sure the lens is properly aligned.
Dvd wont load or play
Most likely the laser diode has died...
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Coby products are the bottom of the barrel as far as electronics go. They have a high failure rate, and very lousy customer support; you get what you pay for...
If you still can, bring it back to the store for a better brand. Coby has extremely lousy support, even when under warranty. I feel for you, as if you can't take it back, you are probably stuck with a paperweight.
