Sceptre NagaIII X30SV 30 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Questions & Answers
Sceptre X30SV LCD display goes black with sound... Inverter? and other parts...
I too have the same problem...Searched and waited long time for parts. I have replaced everything and the thing still flashes and goes blank but has sound. Not worth anymore stress. My neighbor is an electrical engineer who I used to think can fix anything. He too is baffled. My fix suggestion... Getting a new LCD (not a Sceptre) tonight...with an extended warranty...Sceptre (and their tech's) no help if you don't have a warranty. I learned my lesson!
TV will not power up
My Sceptre X30SV had no power. I unscrewed the panel where the power supply is (in the back of the tv) and unplugged the power brick. Shortly after I plugged it back in and it has worked for the past 24 hours. I'm thinking my power supply is on its way out. I have purchased a voltage meter, how do I go about testing the power brick?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Screen goes blank after a second
This is an easy fix! You have a bad "power inverter chipset" To fix this issue you will have to search google for a power inverter for this particular model of lcd. It's basically just the chip that the power cable plugs into on the lcd. More than likely it's going to be cheaper for you just to buy another t.v... Sorry. I know these T.Vs like the back of my hand. I've seen this issue with hundreds of LCDs because I work for a company that fixes them. FYI - It is not your backlight because if that is broken the monitor would not even flash. It is not your VGA because if that was busted you would not see any video.
We do not know how
check the back side of the monitor, or on the side of the monitor you will find the RCA connection through this side. the input of the video player comes in three colors, yellow for video output, red and white for audio output. just put the connector on its color allocation properly
I WOULD like to change the cabinent to black
hi, ive found sticky back plastic works great, you can get this cheap on ebay,OR ,try aerosol, simply mask of the holes ,lighly sand ,and give it a go.if you make a mistake just let it dry ,sand it ,and try again.GOOD LUCK
My Sceptre X30SV had no power.
Replaced all the capacitors in the power supply is the best bet to solved the power shut down.Becauce capacitors is unprodictable very small amount virable dip in Micro farets the whole power board will shutdown.Capacitors testing with the voltage meter is very hard to determine the micro farets in and out went power in use or power it off.
Hi, my tv turns itself
The sensor is detecting some voltage anomaly on the board and is invoking safety shutdown. This may begin to happen more and more frequently until eventually it wont turn on again and by then the task of fixing will be greater than now. It would be better to have it looked at and the solenoid checked to see if IT is the problem or that there is a failing IC chip on the power board that causes the spike that is activating this behaviour.

Sceptre NagaIII X30SV 30 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television powers off
Look at the top right venting louvers above the power cord receptacle. A green LED glows when the power supply is providing voltage to the TV. If the LED is off, you'll have to check the wall receptacle for 110 Volts, check the power cord and check to see if the power supply is getting 110 Volts. If you have voltage in and nothing out of the power supply then buy a new one off E-Bay. Quite often electronic devices will "turn off" when warmed up because of expansion of a faulty connection and "turn back on" after it has cooled. Also, their could be a safty thermo switch within the power supply that is sutting things down because of over heating. So, it's a **** shoot. I fixed mine with an E-bay AC adapter.
