The sound on my Westinghouse TV has become garbled. How do I correct this?
Possibly you have dust build up inside tv on electronics causing overheating of components or a short. Open back of set and look for excessive dust build up and vacuum throughly. My Toshiba had same problem. Fixed it with a good cleaning of internal components. Make sure your set isn't in area where it can't ventilate properly causing overheating.

Hello, my Westinghouse tv/dvd combo will not accept a disc. We had previously, through small children, had three dvds stuck in the dvd slot. But had just gotten them out. We then tried to play a dvd to test its functioning, but it seems as if the DVD player is stuck in an “open” position and will not accept a disc of any kind therefore will not close, or play any sort of disc. Thank you.
* Check your warranty and call for service. There are no customer replacement parts in this type of "combo" unit.
*** Following is for information only ***
* DVD section is usually a "Snap-Assembly" system when built at the factory. Pulling and prying on this type of device will "Snap open" parts. Your best bet is to have the unit replaced.
* Yes, it's possible to take the DVD apart and reconnect the disassembled part. But in addition to not knowing how it is originally assembled, there is a strong possibility that it won't go back in the correct way.
* There is probable damage to the DVD "reader" and LED "LAZER" device that runs just above the DVD. With the DVD disk spinning at a high rate. It is probable the read head crashed into the disk(s) and caused damage to read head and DVD disk.
* Final; If you can still use the TV portion. Check for alternate A/V input. (Yellow, Red, White, RCA jacks) or HDMI input. There are many "Stand alone" DVD players on the market. The last one I bought 10 years ago was $30 at WalMart. I'm sure they are even cheaper models now. You may also want to look into getting another TV set as most cable TV providers have switched to all Digital "High Def" input and don't support the "Channel 3" or Analog TV system.

PS; If you do get a new DVD player. Be aware that the DVDs have been upgraded to "Blu-Ray" disks. Your old DVD player may not have been able to play these newer disks. I found the following players on line:
