Samsung LN-R3228W 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My 52" flat panal Samsung LCD keeps turning on and off by itself
that is the worst news you can receive from the manufacturer they pretty much shun you after the warranty has expired its very disconcerting and unfair to consumers I would make sure when you talk to them that the work that was done should have been under some warranty and if it was not the place the blame entirely on the technician who came in and tell them it was at least working to some extent cough cough before they sent someone who broke it even more if after this they dont comply boycot the brand and look for a new or gently used tv
Im terribly sorry to hear about this

Will any universal remote work with this tv ?
If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device
.Check this link and note which brand remote control have set-up codes to your device brand, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability. For more information

Samsung LCD tv - Turns on and off by itself.
Not sure if this is the same problem, but I just moved and set up my Samsung 40" LCD and it has been going off and on by itself with the worst yesterday every 2-3 minutes. After speaking with a friend of mine who is not in the Tv business but just has good common sense, I determined it was likely a bad power strip. The bottom line is I replaced the crappy power strip (which was fully loaded with all 6 outlets in use) with the higher quality one I had in the other room. The problem is gone. I suspect the power strip was failing or real bad quality........try plugging the tv directly into the wall outlet first. hope this helped.

Closed Caption
closed caption depends on your tv stations. If a tv station does not support providng closed captions, then it will not really show closed captions. Closed captions depends really on the feature of a tv station

No color
The most common reason for this is when you use component cables (YpYbYr) and the red or blue cable is bad it will cause a black and white picture. Also doesn't hurt to check the color settings in the menu too.

One side of my tv gets dim and out of focus it is a samsung. At times it works fine
back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

How do I troubleshoot my Samsung TV?
I have sound, but no picture.
Caps can fail with no outward signs. It takes a special meter to test them. Your set may have a back light inverter that powers the back lights. When it fails, the picture cant be seen, but you have sound, to check this look for a picture on the screen using a flashlight

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should be troubles hooted. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.
Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

Why dont i have a picture?
Hi, not sure if you have the same fault as i had, but our tv only had half the screen go off, after looking up on the internet i found a video for a fix, what you need to do is remove the back cover, there will be ribbons that go from the front screen to the main panel, i removed each one at a time and rubbed the contacts of the ribbon with a rubber on the end of a pencil, plugged them all back in and switched it on and it was now spot on, thats more than a year ago and its still working spot on, hope this helps
