Samsung 46 inch DLP, Screen goes black, sound still on
Considering it runs for an hour then fails it must be a heat issue, the heat builds up then it starts to fail. Have you checked that the fan is actually running after cleaning it? Its usually pretty easy to hear and you should feel airflow from it, and it should be moving a good amount of air. The only other suggestion i could make is something on the main circuit board inside is getting hot/failing, could be bad capacitors, could just be dust buildup, but since you said you cleaned inside i wouldn't think its buildup anymore. It might just be something failing from age. I know i post this over and over about TV's on Fixya, but THE MOST common issue i face with any TV repairs is generally failing/leaky capacitors on the power supply. I keep a large box of various values of capacitors and its about a 99% success rate fixing them by replacing aged capacitors.
Another thing you can try, let it cool of a while, remove the back cover and leave it off and put a small fan nearby blowing in, then turn it on and see if it stays on longer, that could help rule out a cooling problem also.

Purple lines scrolling, green in the middle, blinking on and off
Time for a new TV... Unless your really really really attached to that TV your going to spend more money on it then its worth to try and troubleshoot and repair it. Most of the TV's that come across my bench for repair that have developed lines and color splotches go into the recycling dumpster, they just aren't worth the time to repair as it usually comes down to a bad board or components that just can't be obtained to repair it. What most people don't realize is that once a tv is a couple years old there just isn't service parts for them anymore. The manufacturer keeps parts available until the warranty period is up on a model then its done for.

SAMSUNG HLT5675 BULB LIGHT BLINKS
What do you expect from a Korean TV. These Samsungs and LGs are notorious for quality control. Get a Toshiba, JVC or Sony... if you have a blank check Lowe Opta is the very best.

Sound but no picture on samsung tv HLT5687SX/XAA
I unscrewed the panels on both sides of the tv to find out that the lamp was not turning on. What I did was I got my broom, tapped the lamp with it about 3 times when it was turned on, turned it off, tapped the lamp 3 more times, turned the tv on and it started working again.

Samsung S5687 w/hl shuts off after 20 seconds
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Color picture stopped working, just black and white, and making a humming noise. Suggestion?
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.
