Read or consult the owner manual which will have hookup and operation instructions.If do not have that try to Google the model number with "manual" to locate one. You might also try to find and visit the Bush site for this info.

You all have the cables in the wrong female connectors.

And you have selected the HDMI2 input in the TV menu? If yes, try the dvd on another TV, if you have one. Also try reversing the HDMI cable.

Try website like Remotes.com to buy the DVD player original remote.

the problem is that some dvd players only play original dvds an some play mp3 an data disc an etc I think that you have the one that only plays the original dvds

You haven't specified what hookups you are using, so I am going to assume they are RCA.

Both devices should have one or more sets of these (picture below) yellow, white and red jacks. You will need to use supplied cables or buy some RCA cables and simply connect them to the back of the DVD player (matching the colors of course) and connect the other side to the video in on the back of the television. Once it is connected, turn on the DVD player and switch the sources on your TV.
