Good day!!!!That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..1. Open the back cover of your TV.2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
You can determine if you have a true convergence problem or just need an adjustment very easily. Take a look at this youtube video to find out.Hope this helps!
If the convergence option is there you are in luck--what usually causes this is bad connections at the high voltage transformer which among other things provides voltage for the convergence circuit.
Sounds like the flyback, can you look on the rear tag and let me know which chassis you have and verify your model number and I will post which flyback you need as well as where to get a replacement with free tech support to help you install it.
I suspect that you may have cracked solder connections on the deflection PC board. This is the module that has a red wire coming from the top of a transformer and leads to the front of the tv. I would start with a cleaning of the components, a soft paintbrush and vacuum work well for this. Remove the power deflection module carefully, turn it over and look for cracked solder connections on this PC board. especially near the high voltage transformer. Use a soldering pencil type iron and small diameter solder to correct the issue.
If before it was going rather bright red or a version of that--it is related to the circuit for the red picture tube this set uses---the tube itself or the circuit board that plugs onto the end of that tube.If bright red, green or blue screen set will detect too much current being drawn and blank or turn tubes off; not likely a do it yourself repair and this set is prone to this and many other problems---Just Google the model number with "problems" and see what I mean.
The whine is a short somewhere---+ and - are marked on the board for each cap if it is polarized---usually the - will have a shaded white mark on top of board--if you got one in backwards it can explode......
Set indicated here has speakers and may have a slide switch on rear to select internal or external speakers. Also in menu look to see if speakers are switched off.
thats a vertical deflection issue replacing the deflection board should solve the issue you can get the replacement deflection board from www.tvrepairworld.com listed under the RCA circuit boards
convergence issue. Press the menu button then scroll down to setup and enter the setup menu and see if the Auto convergence feature is still listed under setup options or has it disappeared. Let me know and I will assist with what to do to fix the issue.
