There's problem on your video circuit or the screen inside projector has a problem too

If the picture comes on a its blue the lamp is ok. If you dont't get a menu then you really have a problem. A technician can bring up test patterns on this set that can tell you what the problem is.

I'm having the same problem and would be interested in a solution

When it turns off, what is the status of the LED at the front? Does it blink or stay on? If it blinks then how many times does it blink in between each pause? Please provide this info so that we can continue with the diagnosis.

This part is no longer available from RCA and there is no substitute listed. Your only option at this point is to try local service shops that may have one in stock.

I HAVE A 61" RCA INFOCUS ALL THE LIGHTS IN FRONT OF THE TV IS BLUE YOU UN PLUG IT AND PLUG IT BACK IN IT STAYS BLUE. YOU CANT TURN IT OFFOR ON

Replace Lamp.

Seems a lightning strike took out my bulb
eventhough i have a surge protector.
after replacing the bulb perhaps 1 hour later a shadow began to appear at the top of the screen and progressed slowly down until only the edges are visible.
please can you help?

Most times this unit goes dead because either the lamp is bad or need to be reseated. Pull the from cover off to find the lamp. First pull out the lamp, clean the contacts on the lamp by just wiping them with a soft cloth and reseat the lamp. Re-assemble and see if that helps. If not you will need to replace the lamp.

Try to check the power supply output side where anything could came into contact with positive and negative line for which when you press play button then it shuts down.

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.) I hope this helps. Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.
