Check and do a visual inspection to the lamp. It could be the ballast or the color wheel.

Remove the light engine module from the tv. I have added a video here which will help you to remove the old lamp from the module and to fix a new one. You need a philips screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

I ordered two, one for a spare. Connect the yellow wire that is on it to the blue wire that is on the TV/original wire. black to black, red to red.
The fan is a 80MMX80MMX25MM 31CFM. The above is a 36CFM plus has a longer life hydrodynamic bearing.

The way to Enter Service Menu for most RCA is to turn TV off, Then Press and Hold at same Time
CH- and Vol- wait untill TV turns on then release and Service Menu should come up.

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV(warranty was expired ofcourse) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronic companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 yearsinstead of 10-20. The capacitors failprematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in allsorts of devices. Here are some options . 1. 1.Have it fixed by a professional 2. 2.Dig into your TV, find PSB, Check for faultycaps. If you find some(bulged orleaking) bad caps replace the entire board 3. 3.Remove and then replace individual faultycaps. This takes some solderingskill. Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourselfit will save you hundreds.

when you unplug then plug in the set do you hear anything like a whining motor? When the sets is plug up the set goes through a "bootup" sequence. There is a motorized device called a color wheel. if this does not come on and reach speed the set will shut down. You can deduce that since the green light comes on that you power supply is getting to the processor then the processor then detects a problem then shuts down.

Most DLP TVs have a color wheel. This allows the TV to be manufactured with a single chip to control the color for each spot on the screen and a white light source. As the wheel rotates, the desired color light gets transmitted to the screen. This happens so fast that most people do not see the screen refreshing each color.

Usually the symptom of a failing color wheel is the TV being very noisy on startup (a whining sound) followed by it shutting down. Although other problems can be involved - for example a power problem going into the assembly with the wheel (there is a motor that turns the wheel).

The problem is likely a defective PSU, but the TV must be tested by a technician before replacing parts.

If the TV went in standby and does not wake up, but stays in standby with diagnostic light blinking, then the TV has on protect mode after detecting a malfunction.
When this happens higher voltages from PSU (this power supply operates at different voltages) are shut down to prevent further damage.

Before calling support ensure that you have followed the indications here:Why my TV does not start up and remains in standby.

Troubleshooting basically consists in leaving the TV unplugged to drain power completely and discharge internal circuits.
