Hi fourfinks,
Welcome to FixYa.
My name is John. I will be helping you with your issue.
The only way you can do this is with the original remote that came with the set.
Let me know if you have that...........John
Ihave the rca 61937, once
This indicates some major hardware failure in the unit itself. It could be a number of things, possibly a power board starting to fail, the convergence board in the unit, or the lamps starting to go out. Regardless this TV will need major repairs. I am so sorry about that. If you want you can give me your zip code and I can recommend someone in your area, but there is no easy way to fix the issue.
You can try unplugging the set from the power source, letting it sit a few minutes, and replugging it. This may temporarily alleviate the issue, but it will come back eventually.
So sorry about that :(

My rca has no picture the screen has a snowy
More information would help. What are you running the signal into the TV with? Coax? Separate video/audio? To test the set if you have a vcr hooked up or available to hook up, input it into the tuner input and play a tape. Set the tv to either channel 3 or 4 (whichever channel the output of the vcr is set for, this can be determined by checking the menu or a switch on the back if it is an older vcr). If your TV is ok you should be able to see the tape which is playing. If not, and you still have snow you probably need a new tuner in the set. Let me know if you need more help.

I need a part
Go to
www.encompassparts.com and use the guest login. Enter part number 246459. This looks to be a screen assy which is both screens. That is the way RCA always sold there screens. I don't know where to get just the one screen unless you call around to different shops and try to find a used one. Thanks
Picture on projection screen is concave in the middle
This set does not use IC's for convergence. Most other brands do use IC's.They use individual transistors in this one and honestly I don't remember ever seeing these go bad. Normally it is the power supply that runs the convergence transistors or more commonly known as the convergence board. It gets pretty technical with this type of problem. Have a repair shop check it out for you and avoid the headache. Thanks
Tv will not turn on
You most likely have a horizontal or high voltage failure or possibly the power supply. Any of these three circuits can cause a tv to be dead. This is pretty technical. Have a shop check it out for you. Thanks
Using RCA P61939 without Guide Plus
Guide plus still works even if you don't have the wand hooked up. In the setup section of the guide plus there are several questions that must be answered properly or it won't function as you would like. It maybe labeled as options as well. Thanks
RCA F13137--Have direct connection from cable
Make sure to check in the guide plus setup for the question "Do you have cable?" and answer it yes. Be sure that you answer the question "Do you have a cable box?" NO. It sounds like it is in antenna mode. Thanks
