Sadly, it sounds like a power supply in the set has failed. I can think of no other possible "user solution" remedies here... Sometimes there are capacitors in the power supplies that 'bulge', due to heat (or inferior part quality), and these can be replaced inexpensively. If you feel so inclined, and use extreme caution (unplug set for at least 12 hours first), you can take a look. Search with Google images for "bad caps" to get plenty of examples what you would be looking for.One thing to keep in mind about rear projection sets... the projection arc lamps do NOT take kindly to being "short-cycled"... in other words, turning it ON, lamp ignites, starts to put out light... then gets turned OFF. This can cause catastrophic failure on these lamps in short order.Hope it's not too serious!

you must check the light indicator if how many times does it blink which tell the main problem or the error code of the tv. either the power supply doesn't work normally or the lamp need replacement.

If this is a ITC222 chassis then you need to check the fuses that are near the flyback. I would also unsolder all the pins on the flyback and re-solder them as the factory lead free solder tends to crack and cause issues with the convergence. Re-solder it with common 60/40 solder you can pick up from Radio Shack or other places.

Did you replace the convergence board or the convergence power supply board? usually one color will be a problem with the convergence board and more than one color means the convergence power supply is the problem. Ebay isnt a good place for boards as you never know if the board is good. I was watching my tv and it just automatically turn off, everytime since then i turn it on it goes off in seconds without picture or sound comes.

sparking normal...... but ensure the lamp is firmly in place in its chamber the sparking will go off

If this is similar to the d52w20 then I almost garantee you need to replace a capacitor. You can check to make sure that's what you need by unplugging the tv, taking off the back cover and feeling the top of 3 capacitors. On my d52w20, CP150 (rated at 2200uf 16V) was blown and the top was bulged out. You should also check CP120 and CP114 to see if either are blown. I don't have a clear picture of where it's located, but I have a picture of what you should see after you take off the back cover.

In the middle of the picture you see an aluminum heatsink in the shape of a 'C' with the opening facing away from you. That is where CP150 is located. CP120 and CP114 should be located nearby, but if you can feel a bulge on any of the tops of those 3 capacitors replacing them should fix your problem. Replace the existing capacitors with a higher voltage rating of either 25v or 35v.

The small signal board is the most likliest cause of that issue which is a very famous symptom for the ITC222 and ITC222A chassis RCA models. You can usually get the small signal board from www.tvrepairworld.com several versions were used so they can assist with identifying which version ssb your model requires.

yes they also used a 2200UF 16V for CP150 cap either cap can be replaced with each other and it will work fine.

Replace the three deflection capacitors CP150, CP120 and CP114. You can get the repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com which also contains the CD with instructions.

try this go ipress menu goto picture then advance setings and make sure autoformat is not on then you can push the arrow left or right on remote to change format.

It is called Glycol and is extremely toxic and damages circuit boards if it gets on them....what is reason for replacing?
