Ive seen that over the years . on the front of the set there are the push button switches . one of them have failed on the board . the tact switches can be replaced . if you can solder and have the skill and ability . or the other option is since most people live by the remote and do not get up to turn there set on or change channels . if you were to take the back off of the set you would look at the top center of the light box . there you will see a board with some cables running to it and since we don't have a model number from you i can not tell you exactly which cable it is but it will run to the push button board just unplug that there and you can use the remote and you should return to a normal operation .

Hi, most of the time with these types of sets the convergence IC's goes bad (2) with some low ohm resistors and or low amp fuses with some cold solder connections....

go to menu , then sap , or second language , be sure its set on english .

Go to partstore.com, enter the model and it will show you a list of bulbs and various other parts. The bulbs run about $200-300 depending on color.

check your rear of the tv. there is a switch for external speakers.

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

Find a TV repair shop near you and see if they happen to have this particular model they use for parting out! Why buy new when used will do in this case. Thanks for asking!

The problem is most likely dust on the projection lenses.

Try to check the power supply output side where anything could came into contact with positive and negative line for which when you press play button then it shuts down.

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (One of my family's TVs used a dongle to condense the analog video signal to a single port, swapping blue and green gave a black and white output, IIRC.)

Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.

You need the TV codes not the remote ones. I would use the Remotes code search feature as the Sanyo has allot of codes and you may spend hours going through them.
