My screen does not flip 180 degrees when i turn the screen around
Computer users occasionally have a need to rotate, or "flip," a monitor display to be better able to read long documents or to view pictures. Because rotating a computer screen is such a basic function, modern operating systems (Windows XP and up) include hot keys and display options that enable the user to rotate the computer screen by 90, 180 and 270 degrees. Rotating the computer screen allows for more display options. For instance, when rotated 90 degrees, a 1680x1050 monitor becomes a 1050x1680 monitor, which provides more vertical pixels than a standard display. Windows XP/Vista Monitor Orientation Minimize any windows or programs to the taskbar. Click the desktop. Press "CTRL" + "ALT" at the same time. Press one of the arrow keys to flip the monitor orientation by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The left arrow rotates the computer screen 90 degrees; the down arrow rotates the computer screen 180 degrees; the right arrow rotates the computer screen 270 degrees; the up arrow resets the monitor orientation. Rotate the computer screen in Windows Vista by opening the Control Panel, searching for "Tablet PC" and changing the "Orientation" drop box to the desired rotation. b> Windows 7 Monitor Orientation b> Click the Start menu at the lower-left hand part of the screen, and open the Control Panel. Select "Display," then click "Change display settings" from the left column. When using multiple monitors, select the monitor that you would like to rotate. Click the drop box next to the "Orientation:" option. Select the desired rotation and click "Apply." Click "Keep Changes" or "Revert," depending on preference. Click "Apply" in the Display Settings window. Click "OK" to finish.

Screen upside down on a panasonic CF-T8
On any Panasonic Toughbook you can rotate the screen as follows:
Hold down the "CTRL" and the "ALT" keys and while holding down
these two keys press the "UP Arrow" key and then release all
three keys. This will reset the screen so it is right side up instead
of upside down.
Good Luck and regards from:

P.S. The arrow keys look like this: The up arrow is the one on the top

Screen stays dark
On ALL Panasonic Toughbook Models,
if the screen stays dark I would shut-off the
Toughbook and connect an external monitor
to the VGA port (15-pin female connector),
which is usually BLUE in color.
Make sure the monitor is ON first, then
turn ON the Toughbook.
If the monitor comes on then your problem
is the backlight or possibly the inverter of the
screen.
If no image is shown on the external monitor
and the screen stays dark and you cannot
hear any startup (ie. Windows) sound, then
your video card may be defective. Very few
Toughbooks fail this way since they are
normally very very relaible but it can happen.
Good Luck

Laptop dies when unplugged
Panasonic Toughbook PC Laptops usually have
very reliable battery pack. When your unit is plugged-in
but the Power is OFF, you should see an LED light as follows:
RED FLASHING: Means the battery needs replacement.
Orange/Yellow Solid: Means battery is charging.
Solid Green: Means battery is fully charged.
NO Light AT ALL: Means that Battery Pack is missing.
There is also a battery calibration utility on all Panasonic
Toughbook PC's manufactured since 2004. This is a factory
installed software and is only present in factory units.
This software may also be downloaded as a driver from the
Panasonic Toughbook website as follows:
http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/
Check also in the bottom right hand corner under
Windows for the battery Icon. This will indicate if
the battery is charging, present or not present,
and under Windows 7+ will indicate if the battery
needs to be replaced or not.
Good Luck!
