No power in Mackie TH-15A

i) I assume the fuse you mentioned was in the mains plug - did you also check the fuse in the TH15A mains input socket? This is accessed by pulling out the tab in the bottom section of the socket (below the centre pin). This is a 3.15Amp antisurge fuse, 20mm type. ii) If this fuse has blown, then replace it & all may be well ...... but if it blows again, then move to step iii). iii) With mains disconnected, remove rear panel (outer screws) & check the power supply PCB for damaged components, especially R111 & R112 (100ohms). If the latter are burnt or open circuited, then the amplifier module may have blown. regards, Dave

No sound coming out of my mackie

Whether you are experienced in electronics repair? if not, try this simply way: 1: Test whether the power amplifier is still working. See figure 1. Power OFF,adjust the EQ settings as shown in the picture. Minimize LEVEL.Switch ON Power. Touch pin 3 at the INPUT socket by using a small screwdriver or piece of wire / cable. Slowly raise the LEVEL,a little bit only (as the clock showed 7-8) until sound is heard in speaker. If not heard, slowly raise again LEVEL. If audio input signal is heard,it can simply be taken to mean that the amplifier is working. If LEVEL at 9 o'clock position, and the audio is not heard, the possibility of the amplifier is damaged. Switch OFF the power. Take it to a repair place. 6825bf32-21db-4eec-b931-9d8e40f2652f.jpg 2: When the Power LED is lit, but no sound, There are many possible causes, one of which is: I have been getting 3 times similar cases, and all are caused by two Rectifier-Diode (either or both.) damage on the power-supply-unit. Remove/desolder,measure, if damaged replace it with a new one. See figure 2-3. eebe24b3-1cd5-4fba-b883-6ec7daa01b8f.jpg 83a7ac9f-dec0-4f86-8152-b570c34143cd.jpg Hope it helps. Almost certainly the amp has failed, as per usual with these, you need to take it to the repair shop and see if it's worth fixing it then sell it once working or for spares if not. Sadly whilst Mackie make some really good kit their powered speakers are not amongst the most reliable

CRACKLING SOUND ALSO CUTTING OUT AND IN

This sounds like another case of bad connections or soldering in the amp. If it's not too old take it back to your dealer, they should fix it. These are designed (allegedly) to be used and moved about and should not fail. If it is too old then open it up and with care - and with yourself isolated from earth and wearing insulating gloves wobble connections and components until you find the cause. We have had a couple of this sort of fault with newer mackie stuff and it's not been too hard to track down and fix if you're handy with a soldering iron. If you have any doubts about being competent to do this sort of thing take it to someone who knows what they are doing, it should be a fairly quick fix.

No sound out of my mack th-15a

As Tom Jones sang 'It's not unusual....' The amp has probably gone and you need to get it fixed. These are not the most reliable and I would suggest getting something better from another manufacturer if you can afford it, perhaps a local shop would do you a trade in if they can fix it?

My Mackie Thump TH-15A will not produce any bass.

Could be the crossover has died or the main speaker winding has failed. Open her up and connect on side of the main speaker direct to a 9v battery and then wipe the other wire over the other terminal. If you get a crackling from the speaker then it's likely the crossover, if there is no response at all from the speaker then it is dead and possibly the crossover too.

Hi, I need to know how

After removing the back cover disconnect the tweeter cable form the terminal. Then hold the tweeter magnet and turn it anti clock wise. The driver unit will unscrew and come of the horn assembly.
Keep the driver unit on a firm table and unscrew the four + screws. It has a sandwich assembly which will part into two if you put a sharp knife and twist. You will see the tweeter diaphragm which can be lifted up again by using a sharp knife. The replacement diaphragm is available from the below given address

Have a low noise like

Make sure you are using BALANCED audio line to the speaker AND your mixer is powered from the SAME receptacle as this speaker. One MAY have to run an extension cord back to the mixer and othe equipment, but this must be done to reduce noise and also for equipment safety. Multiple recepatacles in a building have grounding issues that can generate noise or worse damage equipment due to ground loops. If you DJ mixer does NOT have balanced outputs, use DI boxes so you can use balanced lines to your speakers. Your cables will either be XLR or 1/4 inch TRS types, not just TS type.

I turn it on and

Make sure you are using BALANCED line to this... XLR connections boyh ends. Make sure ALL interconnected devices are powered from the same receptacle or power conditioner. Test your cables... they do go bad. This unit REQUIRES line level input. Do NOT expect a mic to drive it directely. Make sure your mixer uses the XLR outputs and is powered from the same receptacle, even if you have to run an extension cord to it. This is a bi-amped speaker so there are independent amps for high and lows. With nothing out and known good in there is very little electronics before the signal is split to the separate amps. At line level, your volume control should probably be about 2 o'clock with the EQ's straight up flat.
