Westinghouse LTV-27W2 27 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Questions & Answers
Vertical color bands take the place of the picture.
I sent my question to the "solve your problem for free" on this website, so I was expecting some "free" advice. My finances are such that I can only ask for free advice. I did see someone who had a similar-sounding problem, and there was a mention of two possible main boards that would fix the problem. I was hoping to know which board would most likely fix my problem, since the TV is less than two years old. If I take it to a TV repair person, I want to have a fairly good idea how to fix it, and what would be the approximate cost, so I do not get ripped off.
Why are faces green on my tv
Improper color reproduction is the problem. Normally this type of problems to LCD TVs will be due to the fault to its T'Con board. But, before make it sure, re-seat all the flat cable connections that goes to LCD panel from this board.

what are you using for signal and how are you connected? Tried a DVD or Blue Ray to see if that does the same things or not?

I have had this problem before and found a loose connection on the power supply module on C310 next to T1 transformer. If you have soldered before you should have on problem. Just take the back off the set and the power module is the one that has the AC cord hookup. Search for C310 and remove the module via screws and unplug it and turn it upside down to the solder side of the board at the C310 location looking for the loose connection there. If you can't see it then solder it anyway and try turning the set back on after putting the board back plugged up and all. Use electronic rosin core solder and a good soldering iron that will get hot enough to do the job. If this is not the problem then suspect an open T3 in the inverter circuit. This is a transformer. T3 may be available by calling Westinghouse by looking on the internet for the manufacturer. Changing it will require using solder wick to remove the transformer and clean the holes to put in a new on. Otherwise if you cannot get T3 the whole board would need to be replaced via manufacturer or try to find on on Ebay doing a search with the model number. Also try Shop Jimmy .com or just a google search

Hi my first guess is the power supply. You can inpect it for bulged capacitors that might be obvious. My second thought is the signal board but I leaning more towards the power supply. If you want to buy parts you can find them at
www.interliquidparts.com in order to get parts you have to get the part numbers from the actual part on your TV. If you open it up it has a part number stamped to it. Be carefull opening up the TV it has high voltage. leave it unplugged for a couple of hours before opening it up.
Westinghouse tv keeps turning off
Good day,
It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic shop.
I hope this help to rectify the problem and take caution in handling the television, because it's fragile and contains high voltages....
TV just shuts off on it own...
Most likely, a number of capacitors need to be replaced in the power supply on this set, OR possibly, there is a bad connection on a connection on the snubber capacitor in the power supply, near the SMT transformer--and I have seen this MANY times on westinghouse LCD sets. .
