LTV32w1 - powers up, indicator goes from blue to

You need to remove the base and lay it down flat on a soft surface and remove all the screws on the back and pry open the back. Look for cold joints, the one in my pictures has cold joints on the one of the leg of retangular grey cap. I would usally inspect the board real well with magnifying glass and resolder just about all joints just to sure.

Look at the power supply for cold solder joints first, then you need to check the voltages before and after the problem. It can also be bad caps and bad bcaklight inverter board.

Lost audio out of the blue

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be, attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find. You may be better off if the sound does work through the PC speakers, to get the TV repaired; it will be more than $100 and up. Picture goes out but the

Common problem on this model is bad solder joint on the power supply board. See pictures here:
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Westinghouse%20LTV-32W1/

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on: Please see my basic troubleshooting guide here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps. I have a 42" LCD

Sounds like the Display Cracked. This is not the first time I heard of a display breaking on Westinghouse and Poleroid LCD TV's as they are made in the same plant in China. Sorry to say a new display will cost more than a new TV.

Just trying to connect the HDMI using a cox cable

This TV doesn't have an HDMI port. You can use a DVI to HDMI adapter or the component video. (I assume the Cox cable has component video out.) You will need to connect an audio cable as well. There are 2 DVI-HDCP ports.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Television comes on with picture and sound but"

Look for cold solder joint in the power supply module, the easiest thing to do is to resolder all the connections on the power supply board. Also chek the DC outputs of the power supply.

Have a westinghouse HD lcd

Usually a color missing is a bent pin if you are using it as a PC monitor. Definately check your cables and see if the problems follows the input selections. If it does it most likely is a electronic component failure. Of course this assumes the settings aren't randomly messed up. You might be wanting to invite that guy that always has things taken apart when you visit...or start watching online sales...head's up on repair bills...a similar product costs $400 new, 300 refurbished.
