need code to set tv cable channels?

Westinghouse... | Answered on Mar 28, 2011

The problem is in the LCD controller board is overheated because the power supply unit is at the bottomof the TV and the heat rises upward to the vent on the top of the TV. You can verify that is hest problrm by running TV with the back removed and have a small fan blowing on the top secdtion of the TV where the LCD controller is. This how I fixed my scrambled picture after warm up (I added heat sinks to the IC on the LCD controller board) : http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/LTV-32W3HD/
You can try it if the board was not badly damaged already by the heat. My has been running great for over a month now.

Hello! Because I do not know the model of your remote, I will give you the steps to a power scan. Instead of using codes, the power scan scans the TV for the correct code for the remote. If this does not work, you can email me at becki.barned@dishnetwork.com and I will get the code for you, just let me know what the model of the remote is please. :)

1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.

Rolling or sync bars can be caused by bad caps in the tuner. I also had a brown film all over my board. Clean with alcohol and repace the 2.2/50 caps in the tuner. l

This sounds like a series of LED's are not performing properly and may indicate a faulty set. I would recommend returning for a replacement.

This set has a tuner so a careful scan of the rear is required as ther is a coax socket, somewhere!

hi, it could be either 1 of 2 things.
1.remote is faulty, if the remote used to work but now doesntand you are sure the batteries are good, its probably not that.
2. a faulty IR / Remote Control Sensor Board . very common problem with an easy cheap replacement. here is a link to one for $20, just remove the back of the tv and remove and replace the new board. be careful when working inside the tv, lots of fragile things in there!

Look for cold solder joints on the power supply, especially around the 24vdc power supply for the inverter circuits, see pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Westinghouse%20LTV-32W1/

I would take the remote that you have and try it on the TV in the store where you bought the TV from to see if it does the same thing, if it does, then it is just a poorly design TV.

It may have loose solder joints or dying caps in the 24vdc power supply, or the backlight inverter board, or T-CON board.
When it goes black, do this:
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.
