The Aiwa Corporation is a consumer-electronics company from Japan which
started in the early 1970's. It has its momentary popularity in the country for
the comparable quality of its appliances particularly audio equipment at
cheaper prices. In early 2000, the company plummets towards insolvency and was
acquired by the biggest electronics company in the world, Sony Corporation.
Aiwa was
given a new lease of life as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony. In 2004
however, 2004 Sony has shelved its support for the Aiwa brand as manufacture
and distribution of Aiwa products were discontinued. Similarly in the
Philippines, the Solid Group Inc. (SGI), the local company in charge of the
marketing, sales and service of Sony products had also put off the marketing
and distribution of the Aiwa appliances.
By 2006, Aiwa products were no longer sold in the market around the world.
Technically therefore, there exists no Aiwa Service Center anymore. However,
Sony, its mother company and the Solid group in the Philippines may still
provide repair services for Aiwa products. For service repairs of your old Aiwa
appliances, you may call 330-1111 for service inquiries or email
[email protected].
You may also contact the Sony customer hotline no. 02-8787600 or 09178077669 or
