How to use a sharp aquos as a monitor with my laptop
Hi. You haven't said how you have connected your laptop to your TV so I'll give you a couple of options:
1. VGA to VGA (This cable is a 15-pin cable like the one you would use to connect a computer monitor to the back of the computer box itself). The Sharp has a VGA connection at the back.
2. DVI to HDMI. If your computer has a DVI output, this would be the best connection.
On your remote, press menu.
Use the left/right arrows to select option
Then use the arrow up and down to select input source.
Depending on the TV you have, you will either see the actual name of the connection (ie. HDMI, DVI, VGA) or you may need to select Input 1, Input 2, etc... depending on which connection you used. The input number may be labelled on the back of your TV.
If none of this works, please let me know your model numbers and I can provide you with instructions specific to your models.

First suspect is the power board RDENCA058WJZZ .You search for that on eBay and buy one for $30 or so, then you replace it and see what happens.Worst case it won't be it, but considering most TV technicians (including us) will get more than that just to diagnose it and most of them (not us) will just make a wild guess as well I think this is your best course of action.Hope this helps!

How do i enable the closed caption on my samsung tv/direct tv?
Correct solution WITH DIRECT TV is NOT going to SETUP MENU on your Samsung TV and enabling it, this won't work with Direct TV!! I'll walk you through it. Grab your Direct TV remote, hit "Menu", pan down to "Parental, Fav & Setup", next click "System Set-up", next click "Display", now at the top of the screen between "Preferences" and "Clock" is "Captioning", click on it, now the first box reads Captioning TURN IT FROM OFF TO ON! You now have Captioning.
