Tune the DVD/VCR to "channel 3".

Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip. Put that end into the small hole in the faceplate. Push it in, until you feel resistance. Firmly push another 5m, to "unlock" it. Gently pull the tray open (or press the "open" button).
