E-Machine constant reboot
I can speculate on a lot of things but the error message (specifically) gives me a place to start that might be in your interest.
Otherwise just reformat and start over (painful). Also...fyi...a lot of "emachines" have problems. I have replaced motherboards at the ratio of 5 to 1 and I fix machines as a part time exercise. Hope this helps....Tango.
Cant fix my pc
look at the screen as soon as the computer boots up. see if there is a function key that says "system restore" .If there is no recovery partition , you are going to have to order a set of disk from emachines. Or use a licensed copy of xp and manually download and install the drivers.
I CAN NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET ..using Linksy wireless remote
the wireless card installed to your computer is working..as you said you can view all wireless networks...your computer is good too...the only issue is you cant connect to the wireless router...
turn off and unplug the power cable of the Modem
turn off and unplug the power cable the router
wait for 30 seconds
plug in and turn on the modem, wait for all the light turn to solid green ( no blinking lights )
then power on the router
if you saw the wireless icon light turn solid...
go to your computer...right click the wireless icon...select repair
if this doesnt work....reset your internet router by press and hold the reset button behind the router near the power plug (atleast 15 sec)
then connect your PC..the wireless network dont have the WEP key anymore because of the reset..you can reconfigure and put back the WEP key when you get connected.

I want to reboot my pc to factory setting
All you need to do is insert the discs and follow the instructions. Though restoring this way adds a lot of un-needed additional software. I prefer to get a real copy of windows and do a fresh install. let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you,
Lee
E-machine was working fine last night got up and
Do a reset: Turn the computer and monitor off. Unplug the monitor video cable from the computer and unplug the monitor power cord from the wall outlet. Let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Plug everything back in, turn on the monitor, then start the computer. Sometimes that will work.
If you still have the same problem, try to borrow a known to be good monitor from somebody. If it works, then you know your monitor is bad.
It's also possible that your video circuitry is bad. If the monitor plugs straight into the motherboard (onboard video), then you'll need to purchase a video card and install it. Disable the onboard video first.
How do I override my log on password?
1. Place your Windows CD in your cd-rom
and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your CD is bootable – as
it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages
for booting to your cd Typically, it will be “Press
any key to boot from cd”
3. Once you get in, the first screen will
indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.
4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to
Setup Windows now
5. The Licensing Agreement comes
next - Press F8 to accept it.
6. The next screen is the Setup screen
which gives you the option to do a Repair.
It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations
is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”
Use the up and down arrow keys to select
your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be
selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.
7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check
your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.
8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage,
you will be required to reboot. (this will happen
automatically – you will see a progress bar stating “Your computer will
reboot in 15 seconds”
9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake
of “pressing any key” to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the
standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is
highlighted.
10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand
side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress
bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security
hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for
wide access to your system.
11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical
access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.
12. Now simply pick the account you need
to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want
to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control
userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked
for password. After you’ve made your changes close the windows, exit the
command box and continue on with the Repair (have your Product key handy).
13. Once the Repair is done, you will be
able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose
not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs
and personalized settings should remain intact.
Desktop recovery disc for laptop
Courtesy of Gateway here is your driver for the network card:
http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?ref=step&st=browse&platform=10022&model=11417&os=10406&type=10095
Now here is where it gets tricky. I'm not sure what wireless network card you have there but on that page is a section that says other available downloadsm click on where it says "click here to view these results". There will be drivers for different network cards. I believe it will be the first one in the list, the broadcom one, if not then try any of the other wireless card drivers. Hope this helps you and sorry for the delay.
Desktop pc slot
Unscrew the screw that holds the little piece of aluminum blocking the slot on the inside of the case.

Constantly rebooting
call me craxy, but you may need to replace your power supply, and if its not that, it is a stuck or broken fan on your graphix card or your cpu.
A Computer Malfunction
If the system was bumped while the hard drive was reading data the their is a good chance that the Hard Drive is no longer any good. Just my thoughts as I have had far far more problems with hard drives that all of the other computer parts combined.

Trouble with video graphics
Do you mean that the icons look very large and colours are a bit harsh? if so it could be that the screen resolution is set to low.
Try this...
Right click on the desktop, and choose 'properties' from the list
a new dialog box will appear called 'display properties'
along the top is a series of tabs, the last one is called 'settings'
click on this and you will then see details of your screen resoulution.
Halfway is a slide bar called screen resoultion
for example..
less -------|------- more
move the slider untill the numbers change to 1024 by 768 pixels
to the right is another box called colour quality - change this to 'highest (32bit)
click apply
click ok
the
screen will briefly go black then you will see the desktop, you will
get a confirmation box asking along the lines of 'do you wish to keep
these settings' click yes to this
have a play with the desktop, open some windows and see if they are now fully visable to you without having to scroll.
You
can go back and change your resoultion anytime you want, by following
the above. But take note, some monitors will not display all the
resoultions in the list, you will get a message to say if it is or not.
Just play with the settings untill your happy.
Hope this helps
