Philips 42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
42PF9630A 42 in. Plasma Television: hi there, I have a phillips 42 inch plasma flat...
This is because the power switch operated the socket that your TV is plugged into. Unplug it and plug it in another socket that is not operated by a switch. Appliances should not be plugged into a socket operated by a switch because of the inconsistency of power to the socket. Lights are about the only thing that should be plugged in.

Do I need to calibrate this model? Any other suggestions?
I have seen services offered by some box stores to "calibrate" the color on televisions. (It was not a cheap procedure.) Is there a problem with a the picture? Did you reset the tv to factory settings and you still do not like the picture quality?

HEY
Hi, Simply attaching the cable isn't always enough. Sometimes you actually have to tell the laptop to display via HDMI or DVI onto your external monitor or it will not output any signal.
Try pressing Windows Key+P, this will change your presentation settings in Windows (What screens you get a display on and how they are displayed). Cycle through to either "projector only" or "duplicate screens" and see if you get a display on your TV then.

I have a Phillips Plasma Tv 42pf532 and suddendly turns off
Check its power supply regulator section. Look for any bulged capacitors. Replace them if any. It will be best to replace the power supply board as card basis, rather than making 'surgery' to it; especially to Plasma TVs. Most of the spare part it have, will be very difficult to get from open electronic spare part market.Contact the nearest authorised service center for Philips to buy a new board.

Tv stuck on menu
Keyboard issues and answers:A problem that is more common than most people think is anissue with buttons on the controlkeyboards of modern TV sets.Recently for whatever reason I have seen more questionsabout this so I have composed this answer and solution for these kinds ofproblems. It can be any button on the set-channel up/down or volume updown-you name it.The symptoms are the same: channel will scan up or down andwill not stop-remote control has no effect on this---It can be channel, volume,or even input or menu if the set has those up front or on the side of the set.All these push controls have something in common-beneatheach is a tiny momentary push switch-when pushed with the plastic button itperforms a specific task (vol up or down etc.).What happens is the afflicted switch beneath the plasticbutton is bad-when released it is supposed to stop its function but does not.Keyboard or button controlled features have PRIORITY over the remote control, hence the remote will not stop this fromhappening. Both the remote and thekeyboard go to the microprocessor in the set but keyboard is first in line. How to resolve this issue?Someone needs to get at the tiny pc board with the buttonsand locate the one associated with the issue (ie sound or channel etc) andunsolder that switch from the board-usually just two pins (may be more formounting only purposes) and then see if set does not have the issue with switchout of the circuit. For the TECH minded with the board out test here theswitches with a ohm meter set to high resistance-any reading with button notpressed means a bad switch-seen ones that read 5,000 plus ohms-it may benecessary to unsolder more than one switch to locate the offender here but an open reading with switch not pressed is therule.I have taken the time to compose this answer as some do notunderstand what is happening in these types of situations---No magic wand orsmoke and mirrors here-have to disable the offending switch to know. The beauty (in my view) of this kind of problem is if found, you really do not have to replace anypart-just operate the set with the remote with one button that no longerfunctions on the set itself-who could ask for more? Plasma screen problems
Likely if picture comes on and is very dark like a black swirling cloud or similar you could have a bad PDP or Plasma Display Panel. What can happen is the panel is a sealed unit with an inert gas inside---if there is even a tiny rupture inside the panel the gas goes and bingo====very dark screen that is almost impossible to see the picture on.If this is the case it is fatal as Panel is more than a new set discounting major labor to replace it.

I HAVE A 42" PHILIPS
Hello,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
I hope this will help to solve the problem....

After getting struck by lightening,
Posible problem of your tv is the power supply and it is very difficult to fix. You can contact a technician or you can replace the whole power supply. Good day and best regards.
