10" LX200 runaway motor, right ascension.Mead

The very first thing to try is new cables. Including the DEC cable. If this does not repair it then it has an internal circuit board issue.

Buy new cables first--

www.scopestuff.com sells them. Call them and order everything new.

Also a low power supply can also cause this-- and would be the second thing I would check. You are using a separate 12volt power pack -- correct?

I have a Star Navigator114 scope. It was working

Can you see things in the distance during the day time? If you can nothing is wrong.

Do not use the barlow-- it is too much magnification for that size scope. Start by using the eyepiece with the largest number written on it-- center up the moon (which would make a good first target) and then exchange eyepieces. You should be able to use the 2 x barlow with the OTHER eyepiece if it is some thing like a 25mm. The barlow will make it about a 13mm.

When you use the barlow with the 9mm it makes it a 4.5mm which is too much magnification.

Where do I get lens

You mean an eyepiece--- these are sold by many on-line retailers. Eyepieces come in 3 sizes--
.965 inch, 1.25 inch, and 2 inch. Your scope is probably a 1.25 inch-- measure the hole in the focuser to be sure.

Here are two retailers:

Hi jpneenan,

It seems that you are indicating that your binoculars are out of alignment and you need to fix them.

Remember , to fix a binocular , it's the best option to get it done via the service center as they may be able to fix it accurately due to the engineering on the device.

It's not possible to fix it yourself , unless there is something which is evidently easy like just tightening up a loose screw.

In the case of binoculars it's usually not wroth to get it fixed so people go for a new one , unless the binocular is a very expensive one.

The more costly binocular you have the more likely it is to stay longer and absorb shocks which cheap binoculars will not do.

And also when you have a good company binocular , the company or manufacturer will give you free services in case of realignment or charge you minimal for realignment.

Therefore , the solution is to weigh your decision , whether you want to get it repaired of go for a new one.

Hope this helps ..:)

I have just aquired a Jupiter D60mm/f800mm

Meade maintains all their manuals on this web site-- look under the REFRACTOR heading for one that is similar to your scope. You will not find an exact manual for that telescope; but they all assemble and are used in a similar fashion.

1st time user.

They are supposed to be upside down, this is how a telescope works. There are additional lenses that can be purchased on some telescopes that flip the image to make it look rightside up, not sure on yours but you can check the web or hobby shops for these. Nothing wrong with your scope, just doing what it is supposed to do.
If you find my advice helpful a vote on the thumbs up would be greatly appreciated, this helps me help more people. Thanks
