Region code hack for PHILIPS 3256 x/94

1. Go to Setup. [from remote]
2. Select the Preference Page.
3. Press 1, 3, 8, 9, 3, 1 on the Philips DVD Player remote.
--> It will show current region code [ for example 5 ]
4. Now Press the up/down key to select "0" which makes it region free.
5. Press ok and exit setup.

Probably the same would be applicable for 3258, 3268, 3986.

The only thing you do to unlock DVDR3480 is this:

With NO disc in your DVDR3480-player you press SETUP on the remote and then press this code: 5 0 1 8 ,now you can pick Region-code with the remote from 0-6
( 0=Region free)

TO my knowledge, the optics assembly is not available. The replaceable part is the entire DVD mechanism. If you can update this with the exact model number, I can confirm that and provide the part numbers and costs.

The above codes do not work on the DVP3688 but the one for the DVP3600 works on the 88 model, I just did it this morning. 1) Go to settings 2) scroll down to preferences and make sure one of the option is highlighted in that menu (any options will do) 3) then press the keys "next, previous, next, previous" on the remote, they are the little arrow keys you normally use to skip a scene while a DVD is playing. 4) after pressing that key sequence, your current region is displayed, use the arrows on the grey circle key to find region 0 and press OK voila, DVP3688 is now region free.

Has to be cd-r/rw disc are you using cd-r or are you trying to use a DVD which is about 12 gig in size. The user manual on page 16 states cd-r/rw for mp3 playback see http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/c/cl-dvd625_ahold/cl-dvd625_ahold_dfu_eng.pdf page 17 has something about playback modes for mp3 which may need to be set but I am not certain as I am unfamiliar with this device.

turn on player without disc. push home button(looks like a house) on remote. enter 1389310 using remote. wait 10 sec then turn off at front of player. wait 10 sec then turn on at front of player. thats it

The default password could be 0000 or 12345 or something else , and it should be mentioned in your player's manual , do check the manual and find out the default password.

Is it asking for a 5 digit passcode? Try 136900. If that is successful, then using the remote, go to the menu and chose the Disc Unlock option.

Please try others disc. If still the same , clean your lens with cd cleaner. If problem persist, replace your lens
