I don't believe it could do that, unless you have a firewall on it. If you have a firewall see if you can disable that and then if that doesn't work, you most likely should uninstall it because if it is going to create issues for you then you shouldn't use it.
My home laptop has been infected with Security Tool.
Security tool trojan will alter your .exe files and in the end you will not be able to access/run any .exe file.
AVG ver. 8.5 does not detect it either.
Manual removal:
Search in /Document and Settings for "ave.exe" and "av.exe": delete all entries found. If you cant delete them go into Task Manager and end the process called ave or av then retry to delete.
Search in C:\Windows for "ave*.pf" and "av*.pf" -> delete the entries.
In Notepad paste:

Download a freeware program called ccleaner.
This is a free registry cleaner that I used for years and never had a problem with. It will also back up the registry before it cleans it, so you know you are safe :-)
As for malware programs, I would suggest Malwarebytes.
its free and ranked # 4 in the malware dectection charts.. and this was months ago before they worked on it even more.

I want to uninstall spy sweeper but I can't. I get
Hi Friend,
Close the SpySweeper Program
If SpySweeper isn't closed properly, it may not uninstall completely. Click the SpySweeper icon on the Windows toolbar, then choose the "Exit" command to close it. Hold down the "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" keys at the same time to open the Task Manager. Select "Processes" and look for a process called "spysweeper.exe." If you find it, choose it and then click "End Process." Next, look for a process called "WRSSSDK.exe" and follow the same procedure to close it if you find it.
Uninstall SpySweeper
Go to the Windows "Start" menu from the toolbar, then choose "Control Panel." Locate the "Add/Remove Program" option and choose it. Once the list of available programs is populated, find and select SpySweeper. Click "Uninstall" and let Windows complete the uninstall process. You will get a message when it is done.
Test the Computer
Reboot your computer, and once it has restarted, look for the SpySweeper icon on the toolbar. If it is absent, hold down "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" to open the Task Manager. Under "Processes," look for "spysweeper.exe" and "WRSSSDK.exe." If the uninstall was successful, you will not find them. If they are running, end them and go through the uninstall process again

CAN'T FIND UNINSTALL FILE FOR SPY SWEEPER
Have you looked in the Spy Sweeper folder, most probably C:\Program
Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper and looked for the uninstaller - unins000.exe
You could always search for this file through Start>Search, select
all files and folders and type "unins000.exe". It should find the file,
this is the uninstaller, just double click.
You could also start in Safe Mode (restart computer and hit F8 when computer first starts) and delete the webroot folder C:\Program
Files\Webroot\ . Do NOT try to delete the Program Files folder...
Good luck! Let me know if you need further help. I will check back tomorrow.
