Fuji FinePix A340 Digital Camera - Page 6 Questions & Answers
I am getting an message that reads card no
Hi there
Take the write protect off by taking the card out
of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on
the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will
be at the side of the card like this
.
Also in the camera's menu you can format the card once the write protect lock is off.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
Card error
format card in PC card reader and then in camera and then it will work for sure try it
Card not initialized
Firstly, check the type of card you bought for this camera. It should be XD card(M-type).
Secondly, Try to format the new card and then use it.
The cradle is not working
Hi,
The A340 use a small battery. My advise is change it for an new one, they are very cheap and you can buy it in every good photo store

Dont have cd
Yes, if using a PC you will see the drive in My Computer if it is plugged in with the USB cord and turned on. It should pop up as a new drive as soon as it is turned on. Double click on the new drive to get the pics. If however, you are still using Win 98, you will need a driver from the manufactures website in order to get the pics.
NEW Batts but keep getting low batt indicator and....
Sorry, no solution. Same problem here. I am very unhappy because initially it took great pictures. The first one I tried only worked a couple of days and I returned to store and they replaced. Second worked a couple of months and now immediately draws down power and won't work on new batteries. I was told to use NH-10 batteries (rechargeable). I did this from the beginning. Still won't hold charge.
Card no Initialized
If your new xD card has an "H" or an "M" before the 1gb, it is not compatible with your camera unless a firmware upgrade is performed (go to
www.fujifilm.ca and follow the links for support to the firmware upgrade section). If the card doesn't have the H or M, you just need to format the card in the "set-up" menu of the camera.
Error message on lcd "card not intialized"
To Funkee Monk
The problem may be due to the size of the cards you are using. The manual for this model only mentions cards up to 512mb in card size as compatible ones. On the Fujifilm's website there is a compatiability chart which does state that the camera can accept up to 2 GB but that some cameras might have to have a firmware upgrade to do so (there is a list of serial numbers at the bottom of the chart to check your camera against.
The link for this is......

Hopefully this will help (& not barking up the wrong tree!)

My DSE memory card says 'write protected'
Hi there, do this:
To fix this, remove the SD card from your camera. Look on the side and you will find a little switch. One end of the switch says locked the other end says unlocked. Move the switch from locked to unlocked. Replace it in your camera and turn it back on.
Thanks for coming to FixYa and fee free to rate my solution.

Fuji A340
I had the same problem and downloaded a firmware upgrade from the Fuji web site and it now works in the camera.
XD card
Most fuji cameras use xD cards, I have had similar problems with my Fuji, and had to use a repair program to fix the issue. Once corrupt, no amount of coaxing will fix them. You can get the software at:
www.cardrecovery.com
If you don't have any critical pictures, then buy a new xD card. But if you have important or sentimental photos buy the program from them. It works fantastic! Thanks for using Fixya!
Cannot transfer video clips from FujiPix A 340 camera
Hi chal
There is an " add a comment " link at the bottom of the page. please use it next time, because it's better to see the whole history together and not just the latest part.
chal wrote " Any one please help. When I try to transfer video clips taken by my A340 fujipix camera to my pc i get the message no pictures can be found. I have no difficulty to transfer photos but not videos. I have Windows XP with service packs 1 and 2 installed. Thanks for any suggestions. "

Now I try:
What are you using to access the pictures? from what I understand the software is looking only for pictures. Try to open it through explorer. Do you see your camera as an external drive under "my computer" when connected? good. Now right click on it and choose "explore", and send us a comment if you see the files there or not.
Then all you have to do is copy paste.
Good luck!
