What is the range

VHF/UHF is line of sight. About 30 - 60 miles from a tower (shorter if buildings or hills are in between). Less on the ground, 5 - 10 miles on relative flat ground without obstructions.

Listen i ned help bcs i cant pickup no other frequies butwhere i live

What do you mean "Where I live" It is a receiver. It can only get channels that are broadcast within range. Only internet apps can get areas that are not where you live because they use the internet to move the signals to where you live, or you can also use high powered ham radios.

Frequency guide

While looking up local listing will take a little leg work, These links below will give you some great starting points. Just remember, agencies will change frequencies, Hardware, and radio types from analog, to digital, to trunked. Also web sites may not have most up to date listings, Id also suggest local amateur radio aka Ham radio clubs. some of the guys there may be able to help you out as well.Best of luck and SCAN ON! :) Enjoyhttp://www.radioreference.comhttp://www.interceptradio.comhttp://www.nationalradiodata.com

I have a uniden bc72xlt can i put in police frequideneny

Hi - this scanner will allow you to monitor any service (police, fire, EMS, Weather, Ham, FRS , GMRS, and lots more) that transmits an analog AM or FM signal in the 25-88Mhz, 108-174Mhz or 406-512Mhz range. You will need to determine frequencies of the services of interest in your area and program them into the radio's memory. You can find frequencies in books sold online and places like Radio Shack. You will probably find a lot of frequencies by looking at Google results for them. Have a look at my link to the search results for "Boston, MA Scanner Frequencies" below:http://preview.tinyurl.com/cgn5bzsYou should try typing your city, town or county over "Boston MA" and click search to get a list of frequencies in your area. You may also want to check out the Scanner Master website for additional help if you like.Good luck!

Need radio frequency codes for Sacramento, and West Sacramento Ca for my bearcat

Most Ham Radio outlet stores sell current frequency lists--depending on type of scanner you have (trunking, digital etc) you may be able to program not to mention doing a search mode for the scanner.

  2. First press the "HOLD" button.
  3. Now enter the number for the channel that you want to store a frequency in.
  4. Now press "func" and "prg" buttons together and the channel will appear.
  5. Now enter the frequencies with the numbers on the keypad, don't forget the decimal [.] .
  6. Now press the "E" button to store the frequency.
  7. Repeat the above steps until you have all frequencies stored you want.
  • If during programming you ever see the word "error" then you entered an invalid frequency.

I have tried to adjust

  • Hi, I can help.

  • If your getting transmissions then the receive is working. If your squelch is not adjusting out then it is possible your antenna, or the connector, is not working right. Hand held scanner antennas are the same across the board as for frequency use. The connector your antenna uses is a standard BNC connector. So your antenna is really universal which mean you don't have to go to Uniden and pay top dollar for their antenna.

  • Now it is possible the squelch knob is giving you trouble. but I would see if you can borrow an antenna just to try from anyone you know that has a hand held scanner. As long as their scanner works well with that antenna it should on yours too. If it don't then check the connector for the antenna on the scanner and make sure it is not loose. You can open the scanner and just eyeball the connections and make sure no soldier joints are not cold.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
