Where can I find frequencies for police, fire
Your local Radio Shack store sell scanner books based on geographical location and used to (still might) on types of services you're interested in monitoring. This was before the internet, so the demand has dropped considerably as most folks can get what they're looking for simply by
googling a search term like "
Boston scanner frequencies" or "
Cook County IL Scanner Frequencies" etc (drop the quotation marks and insert your town, city, county or state. You may also find websites that are designed to host an online community of local scanner enthusiasts - which trade frequencies, and other info.
Good luck!

You need an antenna with a Motorola plug, also known as an automotive plug, and a 90 degree angle - or a swivel. You can pick one up on any of the scanner web stores (Scanner World, Scanner Master, Grove Enterprises, etc.) or on eBay. Here's a link to a current eBay listing:

How to clear old codes
I don't know of any global RESET function for your model scanner, but you can clear/delete the frequency (they're not codes) in any channel by programming 0 (zero) into the channel. Also, programming any new frequency into a channel automatically deletes/overwrites the previously programmed frequency.

The BC370CRS is a straight analog scanner. It will not do digital, and it will not do trunking. I use mine for fire, EMS, and aircraft. Unlike most of today's scanners, it has good coverage of both civil AND military aircraft bands. If you want a preview, you can download and print the scanner's manual, at no cost, here:

Sorry, but maintaining memory in your BC248CLT is not as simple as replacing a battery. Your scanner has a capacitor-based backup system, and the capacitor has apparently failed with age. Unless you're skilled at electronics repair, or you have a buddy who is, repair of this classic (circa 1999) scanner will set you back about $100. That makes repair impractical, so you might want to keep your current scanner powered up, and start looking for a replacement. Good deals on used scanners can always be found on eBay, but be certain that you know what you're buying, what condition it's in, and what it's worth.

Lost owners manuel. need code install
There is no general reset function that will clear all of the frequencies (they're not codes) from your scanner, but there are two ways to clear individual frequencies:
1. Programming "0.0" (zero point zero) into a channel will remove the programmed frequency.
2. Programming a new frequency into any channel will remove/override the previously programmed frequency.

You are correct regarding the frequencies used by aircraft, but unfortunately your scanner does not cover this range. The UBC244CLT covers 66-87.265, 137-173-995, and 406-512MHz. To receive the aircraft band (108-137MHz) on an economically-priced scanner you will need to purchase the BC370CRS or UBC370CRS.

C an i open lock uniden scaner?any idia?i want to
A modern scanner is only capable of receiving the frequencies listed in the operating manual. There is no magic spell that will "unlock" your scanner. If you want to cover more frequencies, you'll need to purchase a scanner that's capable of doing so right out of the box.

Is it possable to convert
Sorry, but the two signal types are not compatible with each other, and there is no APCO-25 (digital) card made for your scanner. In order to receive the digital signals you will need to purchase a digital scanner.

I WANT TO UNLOCK MY SCANER. I WANT TO RECIVE ALL
There is no magic that will "unlock" a modern scanner, so you're stuck with the frequency ranges listed in the owners manual. For wider coverage you will need to purchase a scanner that comes that way from the factory.

What you can program and what you can hear will depend on your location. Many communities now use trunking systems and digital (APCO-25) systems, and your scanner is not compatible with either. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies and systems in your area, visit:
