Hi,
I also have this telescope with no manual!
I called the Meade customer service number at 1-800-626-3233
and they are going to email me the manual for this model.
FYI - it's now called a Jupiter 114EQ-D.
Hope this helps you!
Everything is upside down thru the lens
Reflector telescopes are design for looking at stars, and in space there is no right side up. Try taking it out at night and look at the moon. Your telescope is performing just as it should, there are no problems with upside down views when looking at objects on the ground.
No instructions for Jessops TA900-114

Primary reflector became dull with time.
The primary mirror is VERY delicate -- first surface mirror. Without a doubt you damaged it using auto polish. Mirror are cleaned very very gently using running water and alcohol-- and a tiny amount of dish soap... here is an article--

You can buy mirrors --- but they will be almost as expensive as a new telescope.
BROKEN MOUNT
WITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT AND WHERE THE BREAK IS, HERE IS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION. EPOXY IS AN EXTREAMLY GOOD BONDING AGENT FOR PUTTING TWO PIECES BACK TOGTHER, SECURELY. AN EPOXY PRODUCT CALLED "J-B WELD" WHICH COMES IN TWO [2] SMALL TUBES BOUGHT LOCALLY AT HARDWARE STORES CAN BE USED TO BOND THE TWO BROKEN PIECES BACK TOGETHER...FOREVER. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR MIXING, APPLY TO PIECES, CLAMP TOGETHER PIECES AND LET LET OVERNIGHT. WIPE OFF/CLEAN EXCESS EPOXY BEFORE IT SETS UP. THE NEXT DAY, DRESS UP THE AREA AS NEEDED FOR LOOKS AND OR FUNCTION. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Best out of 3 Telescopes
Hi Glenn
I would recommend the DS2000 should be DS2114 AT. The AT
refers to the use of the autostar hand box. This is a helpful tool for the beginner. Once you learn how to align the scope the computer will guide you around, helping you become familiar with the orientation of objects in the sky.
