Adjust treble
is it too much treble and you want to attenuate?
if thats the case i have a simple suggestion. wire used for doorbells has no place between an amplifier and a speakers. you could try obeying for a set of modus cube speakers. they're great and cheap. between 10 and 25 GBP a pair. you may even be able to find the centre speaker. if not just get 6 speakers or 3 pairs. use 5 of the 6 and keep a spare.

What is this optical cable looks like & use for

First of all reset all settings to factory defaults.

Unplug DAV-C990 from AC outlet for couple of minutes, replug back in and power it up.
