Sony boom cd/radio/cassette player says

The laser diode is usually the first component to fail in optical disc players. If you can, open the casing to expose the CD mechanism. Point a cell-phone camera at the laser lens, which hides under a flat bridge. Without a disc inserted, press play or eject / load the CD tray. Via the camera, you should see the laser diode briefly flash as it tries to read data from where disc should be. No flash means IR laser diode has probably burnt out. Don't stare directly into laser beam for long periods with the ***** eye - rather use the camera as an interface. The beam's visual color is red, but the CDS sensor of a digital camera sees the IR radiation as white on mobile's screen.

The tape plays songs so fast sounds like donald

Hi, the casette deck has a mechanical system (servo-driver) most of the problems that happen when in your case, plays song so fast is that you look at the pinch roller. The pinch roller is a rubberized free spinning wheel typically used to press magnetic tape against a capstan shaft in order to create friction necessary to drive the tape along the magnetic heads with a normal tape speed if the pinch roller brakes, get lost from his place or got dirty then you get this fast sounds play, check the pinch roller if still good in his place or clean his rubber with alcohol, then the problem should be fixed.

It is not a CFD-E90 White CD player, but is Red

Hi,
There is spindle motor that spins the disc, pull up spindle table slightly as this will increase gap between disc and lens so lens would be able to read data in mid tracks easily.
In my opinion, disc table mounted on spindle motor got incorrect position and creates less distance between disc surface and lens that is causing problem for lens to read the data from disc.
CAUTION: adjusting disc table is tricky job and novice can break it easily so do it carefully without damaging it. Insert flat screw driver at bottom of table where is meats with spindle motor shaft and turn screw driver slightly to push upward that disc table.
Thanks.
