Sony TA-N9000ES 5-Channel Amplifier Questions & Answers
Hello! I have a problem
If the light blinks you need not check the fuse, its an indication that your amp has gone into protection mode due to an output failure. You will have to take it to an authorized service center because the S-master chip is a surface mounted device which needs a specialized equipment for de soldering and soldering.Even an ordinary service technician might refuse to handle this work.

Hi...
#1 Is the subwoofer connected?
#2 Try connecting another speaker to see if your original sun is bad
If the trouble is still there either you have a power supply failure or one amplifier section that has failed ( needs parts)

to fix it you would need a soldering iron and some solder. Where is your location so I can set you up with a place to buy a new one?
Accidentally plug 110v dryer into
The dryer would have burned off the coils as the voltage is double of the operating voltage that was designed. ALl what can be done is to open and find out the break in the heater resisitor winding . These wires act a fuse and would have just burned out and lost the connection. find it out by a continuity test and connect at this point by joining , twisting. Now test the continuity and test on the 110 volt. it must work hope fully if the motor has not burnt out too. Hope you try. Good day..
I accidentally plugged my 110V amplifier to 220V
Hi and welcome to the site,
Initially, on a completely dead Sony TA-N9000ES, primary suspects to be checked would be:
- 8A F1 fuse;
- primary winding of T1 transformer;.
- fusible resistors R816, R817 and R818.
Good luck and thank you for asking.
Sony TA-N9000ES Flash light when turn on.
an amp of this size generates alot of heat internally when in use as these use mosfet ICs and can get very hot.
your problem is most definately dry solder joints and possibly quite a few at that.
i've repaired quite a few sony surround receivers with similar problems and have all been down to dry solder joints.
hope this helps.
Volume knob broken
needle nose pliers to turn it down, find another knob there pretty common even if you had to use a drop of super glue.
