Light Engine and Optics Block is same thing, main part of DLP TV and multimedia projector to produce and project image on front screen.
Few manufacturer call it light engine and some says it optics block.

Replace Both of your STK ICs and Ck pico Fuses they look like resistors but are fuses they green and yellow 5amps 6amps STKs will have # on them Call Mats Electronics 1-800-628-1118

Light engine is bad. Contact Sony they have been replacing them due to a class action law suit.

This is a simple fix and not hard to do, first you must get the speaker grill off, usaly two screws on the bottom and they might be hidden under to caps, then remove the acsess cover from the front. From there you should see a control box with six controls, three on top of three,,,,One part label "screen" the other "focus" now turn the set on and tune to a input that HAS NO SIGNAL this should give you a black pix, probley not now but it's supose to be black. Now turn the ones marked screen , one at a time counter clockwise just a little to get the pix compleatly black, now starting with one color turn the control slowly clockwise till the color just appears then turn it back down till it just disapears (Black) do this for all three colors Now the set should runn

I have the same problem with the Blue Haze effect at the bottom of my scree that just started happeneing about a week ago. Sony said my warranty is out of date and I have to get it repaired by a inmate, in mean a TV repair shop, whats the diffference they both still rob you. Any suggestions respond [email protected]

Your light engine is going bad, sorry. It is a very costly repair.

A very common problem in Grand WEGA, In short the solution is, The LAMP needs replacement. Replace the lame and it will work fine again.

You have a bad light engine. This is not an uncommon issue with these models. The part is not easy to replace and requires a little disassemble to replace it. send the exact model number and count how many times the light flashes. It is a diagnostic code.

Probably not.You will have to have it repaired.We had many of these Televisions at the store I worked at and it's an electronic part that will eventually be on the top of the screan also.

most likely, buy you a lamp and install it yourself, the owners manual tells you how to do this.

I would check the Lamp. It will give you this type of symptom when the Lamp is weak.
To order one you could call 1800-222-SONY.
I would not trust a aftermarket Lamp, only a Sony Lamp is recommended.

The 6 blink error usually means the thermal fuse has opened up. You will need to have a technician look at the TV as most likely there is a build up of dust in the cooling fans which caused the temp to go a little too high which ultimately opened the thermal fuse.
