Red Covergance Issue

Solution:

Your TV has a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence or magic focus section.

Try to adjust the convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Its a fairly easy fix.

You can get a repair kit that includes all the parts from www.TvRepairKits.com. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc.

Everything you need to fix it yourself.

Liquid leaked into tv

Hi Tracy,
I have the sweetest grandchildren and tey are always willing to help also, so we have to love the children for all their wonderful help. ( NOT !!! ...lol ) But lets not send your son to the adoption web sight just yet. I'll start by letting you know ( in a sigh of releif for you ) that your tv is not damaged forever, although, when the windex drys, you will probably see a dirt stain on the screen, since the windex probably did it's job and cleaned the dirt off, unfortunatly the residue is between the screens. You have 2 layer of plastic screens for your TV. One is a lexan shield and the other is a riffled substance plastic. To seperate the two of them, you need to take the front of the TV off, normally by removing screws from the inside of the TV ( this can be a tricky job and I really suggest you have a pro do it if you haven't worked on TV's in the past ). If you do it, be extra careful not to break the screen or sheild after removing as they can get a bit pricey. When you take them out, they will seperate ( one lays on top of the other, no real trick to them ) and then just grab your windex ( the remains of the bottle that your son left you ) and clean them like you would glass. Of course after you clean the screens, replace them in the oppisite proceedure of taking them apart and wella, all is ok again and junior remians a loving and helpful son. smiling. I hope this helped. Nice day.

Sony KP-46WT500 clicks off

i know this isnt what you want to hear but your best solution is to call a repairman in.if you dont know anything about tvs and ask people on here they will have you so confused and have you spending moey you wont need to be spending on parts you dont need.if it were my tv i would call in a repairman and let him fix it right the first time so you dont have to do alot of running around looking for parts you may or may not need.

Sony KP-46WT500 46 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

If the D board didnt correct the convergence issue the problem has got to be the wave generator on the A board or possibly the Velocity boards themselves that are bad.

Sony not turning on

How many flashes? Is it continuous?

If you count the number of blinks, then go to this site:

http://www.iwaynet.net/~nesda/SonyBlink.html

you will get some idea of the trouble. But, continuous blinking is usually associated with the "jungle" chip which is not a clear and easy cure; it must be further diagnosed by a tech; repairs are probably over $200.
