The inside of unit is

Start off by cleaning the condenser coils. If you get up on a step ladder or chair look for the radiator in front of a fan. This radiator gets hot when running. If the air flow is stopped by dust or grease in the coils ther freezer will not work properly. Be sure the fan is running also whenever the compressor is running. The next most common problem is that the inside coils are frozen over. Your unit must defrost 3 or 4 times per day. When the door is opened frost accumulates on the inside coils and will eventually cover the coils with ice if your defrost cycle is not working. If the coil freezes over the temperature will go up, the compressor will continue to run and it the temperature will continue to increase. Check the inside coils for ice. If there is ice, you will have to unplug the unit and let the ice thaw completely before restart. If the unit pulls down to 0 after restart, it was probably frozen over. If that is the case you will need to either increase the number of defrost cycles or verify that the defrost cycle is working. Try this and repost if that does not resolve your problems.

I have a freezer true

Before you do, consider these items:
1.) You will need to replace the compressor (Most likely). Compressors are sometimes rated for medium and low temp applications but not always.

2.) You may also need to replace the evaporator. They are rated by BTU's and what you have most likely will not work as you are changing the temp range.

3.) You will need to disable the defrost control and heater.

4.) You will need to bypass the fan delay or remove all together and reconfigure the wiring for such.

5.) You will need a new expansion device. Be it a cap tube or TXV, it still needs replacing as you are changing the temp range and BTU's you want.

6.) You will most likely need to replace the temp control (t'stat). Again, different temp range.

7.) Now, figure in the labor it takes to do all this. (Including the research to see it these items will work or not.

You may want to rethink doing this and opt for another piece of equipment.

Anyway, these are the steps you will need to take if you want to do the conversion.

Hope this has been of some help.

Can I convert an existing refrigerator to a freezer ?

It's do-able but really not worth the money it would take to do it. You would most likely have to change out the entire refrigeration system (compressor, evap., and expansion device.) Then you would have to add some sort of defrost timing device and defrost heaters. This woud include an defrost terminator and fan delay device as well. Way too much work and money to get what you want.
I would try to shop around too see if you can pick up a good used one from a reliable source.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Convert freezer to refrigerator

Converting a freezer to run like a fridg can be done ,however it is sometimes tricky. you have to replace the thermostat, you will also want to shorten the defrost time setting. and may have to disable the fan delay to let the evaporator fans run all of the time, to prevent short cycling of the compressor.

On freezer True T-23, the compressor works around 5 minutes and turn off for around 5-6 minutes and start again for another 5 minutes. I need help

That is what it is supposed to do. It is called cycling and switches off when the set temperature is reached. It is a commercial freezer, so if the door opened and closed often, that is normal?Commercial freezers and fridges have an item called a 'Clixon' that cuts power in the case of the compressor overheating. When was the last time the fins on the compressor coils were cleaned? Could also be a bad door seal letting cold air escape. When you close a freezer door on a unit like that, it should be really hard to open straight afterward due to the suction. Could be a faulty thermostat. Turn the temperature to the warmest setting and see if it still does it? If it does, you need a new thermostat.I just retired after 52 years in catering.https://www.katom.com/598-T23F.html?gclid=CjwKCAiArbv_BRA8EiwAYGs23PKtEzF60_OMVNpHXBlGjHQNdpp0pDZsu0G0lFLqVy2p4qIybG9n8xoCwEMQAvD_BwE..

Why is jenn air jcd2389ge hot around front freezer door frame?

The heat at the opening of refrigerator is usually a sign the condenser coils are dirty. Check the condenser coils for a restriction underneath the unit. Dirty condenser coils will cause poor air flow over the coils and compressor. Poor air flow will cause a lot of problems, including overheating the compressor, the refrigerant and the copper lines. This will destroy your sealed system. The coils need cleaning at least once a year, more often if you have pets.
I couldn’t determine if your unit has an “energy saver” setting. If so, turn it on. Not all refrigerators have energy saver. This is on units with emilion heaters in the wall around the door gaskets. The heaters are to eliminate condensation around the door. Turning ON energy saver turns OFF those heaters. You should notice a change quickly if it’s the heater causing the heat, that is, if you have that model.
Cleaning the coils will need a day or two to allow things to cool down before you notice a change in the heat around the door.

True 49f fans stopped running. Compressor still runs. Fixes? Troubleshooting steps?

I am assuming you are relating to the evaporator fan(s) not running. If this is the case, some units have a 'Klixon" type thermostat in the evaporator so when the evaporator coil temp reaches a predetermined temperature, the fans come on. You may have a bad "Fan Delay" (Klixon) or the coil is not reaching the proper temp to activate it to turn on the fans. I would check the wiring diagram on the unit for this part to see if this unit has it in the system.
