the part number for the B board is A1148426A, there is a newer version A1148426E, I checked the internet and I found one here:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/showparts.cfm?item=378903&ps=3789&pn=3
This part is a "pull", meaning it was used at some time and removed from a unit that was likely damaged and not worth repairing. At around $70, it's a bargain; the going rate is around $170-180. If you are handy with tools and take your time you should be able to replace it yourself. Good luck and be sure to rate this oslution.
Thanks!

If the menu and OSD are OK, that probably eliminates the panel and TCON board. That still leaves the A3U board which does all the switching and intial processing of the video signal and the B board which does final video process and panel drive. The is one simple way of narrowing it down: hook up a PC to the 15 pin VGA connector (make sure the PC is set for a 60 hertz refresh rate). If you can see the problem when using the computer input, it is most likely the B board. The B board is the most likely cause of video distortion problems. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

Try this link.( You'll need to copy and paste it into your address bar since it is so long.) this may be just what you need. Your remote control however may need to be reprogrammed, so I would look for the manual download for your Remote using the model # of the remote, Unless you are using a service procided remote, and then you would need to find the information in that manual (Direc Tv, Comcast, whatever.)

I hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya

Very likely a power supply problem.
Most modern sets monitor power supply performance continuously and if a higher drain circuit is drawing excessive juice, they are designed to shut down to avoid burning down your house.
After all, no house, no new TV needed -

I would be sniffing around the top vents on the set to detect possible 'hot' odors coming from it.

Hi,

Could you please provide a pic so I can see exactly what you are talking about. Did you try power cycling the TV?

You probably need to replace the backlight. In parts less than 30$. If you know your way around these things, or know someone who does, it's not a super difficult thing to do. You can get a tutorial that's written for monitors here: http://www.inventgeek.com/Projects/shorts/lcdfix.aspx basically the same procedure for an LCD TV. Good luck!

If it came with batteries replace them with new Duracell batteries. The batteries are probably Chinese, low quality and partially drained.

It is never good to use Universal remotes. These days people buy Facsimile remotes which are a clone of the original will all the same buttons and features as the original.
