Sony trinitron kd28dl10u has moved house. retuned

i think i get the jist - you've moved, and now you're missing a couple channels. from what you're saying, i assume you are using a digital converter box, or have a digital ready tv. i personally have seen many problems since the digital change, specifically loss of channels. even though digital tv is supposed to be 'all that', and it is fine when it works, the quality and placement of your antenna is still critical. you are still receiving a signal on the same channel, only with digital, they have reduced the bandwidth. this action was not done with the consumer in mind, it was done to free up air space for other communicatiomns. try an amplified antenna [available at radio shack for about 20 dollars], and try different positions. if this doesn't work, you might try an outdoor antenna. with digital signals, if there is an obstruction between you and the transmission site, rather than getting a weak, snowy picture, or shadows, as you would back in the days of analog, your receiver will simply not receive the station

Sony KV 27FS16 TV does not power on

The chirping is the power supply trying to start. This is not a repair that I would recommend a novice attempt. PLease have this unti serviced. Expect a parts cost in the $20-$40 range for power supply caps.

Sony KV-27fs100 screen will not do anything, power is on

You may have had the sleep mode set itself. Try unplugging the set for 8 hours and let it reset itself to see if problem persists.

This could be a stuck button on the front control panel or a bad solder connection on one of the switches on the front control panel.

It sounds like you have a front panel switch that is hanging or that is bad. I would start with the menu switch first. If you are not electronically savvy, do not attempt it, call a professional.
Hope this helps,

Television starts with a loud crack and shuts off.

If it isn't too late, read this; I just posted it to another:
"You are losing high voltage; if you sniff around the top or back of the set, you may smell ozone.
Pull the AC plug on the set overnight, remove the few screws holding the rear housing on, use a CLEAN (or new cheap) paint brush and if you have a vacuum with a hose, bring it along too. The CRT (picture tube) will be nasty, full of dust that is picking up moisture and creating a path for the high voltage to discharge and you need to clean it with the brush and it's better if you hold the vacuum hose close by so you can **** up the dust loosened by the brush.
If you clean it well (dry, not wet), the problem should be gone."
In your case, the shutdown is caused by a protective circuit that is activating when the HV arcs.  Repeating this will eventually cause a complete failure.

I have a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 TV

You will need the converter if you are dependent on broadcast reception; in other words, use an antenna with your set. Cable and satellite sources may or may not 'go digital' at some point in time so if you are using one of these, check with your cable or satellite company.
If you decide to buy one of the pretty, new flat panel sets, buy the converter and DON'T toss your Sony. Store them in a dry place as backups. The flat panel sets are crapping out all over so you might do without TV when it fails.

Top five inches of tv screen is blacked out.

If you can see movement in that top line that corresponds to the video you can still see below it, then it isn't really blacked out, it's compressed. This is usually caused by a failed (or failing) electrolytic capacitor in the vertical deflection circuit.
I don't know what labor costs in your area but the part that needs replacement is no more than a couple of dollars. The tech who can repair this would however would have to have a certain piece of equipment (capacitor bridge or meter with DF) to ferret out the bad part.
I have been recommending that folks have their conventional CRT sets repaired, buy a digital to analog convertor for them and park them both in a dry place when you decide to buy a flat panel set; these are failing at a much higher rate than the CRT sets so I don't depend on them entirely.

Sony Wega Trinitron KV-32HS20 TV

The 4 blinks usually indicate a vertical problem. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Let me know if you wish to attempt this repair. If not, expect a parts cost of $10-$15 plus the local labor rate for the repair.
