My sony kv-40xbr800 blinks 6
The problem is on the 'A' circuit board. It is the IC504.Or, it is a low voltage drop or a short. Replace the "A" board. It is the front board on your right when you are at the rear of the set when you remove the cover. Look it up on the net. PS Don't touch the chassis while it is on...HIGH VOLTAGE !!!

The picture gets brighter than usual then blacks
Either the processor of the tv is no longer capable of controlling the gain of the video final section or the transistors from it overheat. The screen blacks out because when the luminance goes up the current thru the tube goes out and when it reaches a level that is dangerous the X-Ray protection kicks in and cuts the high tension to the tube. When that happens the current thru it goes to 0 , the processor's video section is reseted and the transistor cool down so the process starts again.
All you can do is to open it and check the connections to the video final board (the one that is plugged to the tube) and the status of the transistor's radiators - they might need cleaning, use a soft plastic brush.

My tv is a sony xbr. somehow we got ourselves a
A solution I found for our KV-32XBR200 was to press Setup on top of the set, then select the "Demo" item with TV/Video. The text overlay apparently banished PIP. Verified this twice, as I'm at this page because our remote can only turn PIP on :-).

Tv won't go on-stand by light blinks on and off
How many times does it blink in between each pause? This is a self-test diagnostic code that will help us locate the source of the problem. So please count carefully and let me know.
Sai.

My computer can not turned on.
First 11 blinks
Hello
It is a fault indiation. We will call it as self-diagnosis. That is the microcomputer inside your tv detects two serious faults inside the circuits, and shuts off the rest of the circuit from going on, to prevent further damage. The first 11 blinks indicates that there are some bad solder connections on "D" board or the transistors it it may be gone out. The following 5 blinks shows that there is some fault IN the AKB circuits [Automatic Kin bias], the timer or standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds and goes to the self diagnosis function again. There must be something wrong with the video section. Just check video output section of "C" board for fault.
I thinks that without thorough knowledge about the circuit and its components, you yoursef cannot rectify the problem. There is some series mistakes inside. It will be best for you to get it repaired from the authorised sevice center. Ok

Your tv has problems in power regulator side, which is in the printed circuit board of the telivision. Sometimes it may due to some socket contact problems. You just contact a technician., while you cannot do it right by yourself.

Try to turn on but
The tv has entered protect mode due to a surge. Unplug the set for about half an hour and turn it back on. See if it does the trick. If it does not then it has probably knocked out some voltage regulator ICs that is causing the line to overload. In that case a component level fix should do the trick.
