Sony XM-2165GTX Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
I have a 1000 watt
Sounds like you're overloading the amp. Which rockford subs are they exactly? I can find the specs and see if theyre just too much for the amp or you just have to hook em up to the amp different so the amp wont go into protect mode
How to bridge the amp
if the OHM load is lower than 4OHM then you will damage the amplifier. As for how to bridge the amplifier. there are designated locations on your speaker terminals of your amplifier that state where you should connect the cables to work in bridge mode.
hope this helps.
If you are not sure about how many OHM the subs add up to, you could use a multimeter and set it to OHM and measure them or look on the back of the sub woofer to see what it says.

How to hook up my sony xm-2165gtx
You need a splitter box for both ground and power wires
Now always up size the wire coming in, and lower gauge going out.....
for remote wire simply split the wire......
Do not do that for your ground and power wires you will start a fire, get the blocks
Hope this helps...............
How do i bridge this amp
That looks like a single channel amp, therefore there is nothing to bridge. You need at least two channels to bridge them together combining there power output to one channel.
I have a sony 2/1
Not enough power going to the amp..?
Solutions:
1) Your negative ground wire needs to be in a better spot.
scrape paint from the grounding surface.. This will ensure better contact between the negative power wire terminal and the vehicle ground.
2) Get thicker wiring cables.. for Positive, and Negative
3)Turn the gain right down.
Amp wont stay powered on as soon as bass hits in goes into pm
The amp is not geting enough current. You need to use some larger gauge cable and it would probably be best to add a small power capacitor. If your not familiar with a cap then stop by your local car audio store or google it and you will get a lot of imfo.
No sound
What size subs are you running? Also what wattage are the subs that you want to use? Also what I would do is to start out with a smaller speaser just something like a 6x9. Just enough to hear sound. From there I would make sure that all cables and wires are hooked up accordingly. DO NOT BRIDGE CONNECTIONS until you have verified that you get sound out of each channel. I have a 1200 watt amp in my car and do not have a cap in it. It seems to be fine. The only thing that a capacitor is good for is if you decide to use you system with out it running.
Amp burning speakers.
one of the channels your using may be burned out or there is sum wire touching inside the amp so take the cover off and make sure nuthn is touching and see if sumthn is burnt and also try using a different channel on the sub
My xplod amp gets power
If the power light is lit and the amp is not in protect mode, the power supply is probably blown.
Have you confirmed that you have a good signal reaching the amp and that the speakers are not blown?
Amp works when it wants to
Of course, the silly things should be checked, like that power is continuous, and your 12V Main and ground are secure. Also may want to check the remote wire to be sure that voltage is constant and at the proper voltage. If that's not the case, check your fuses, both on the amplifier and off the battery to be sure those connections are good.
Power light on but dims
It is due to the power amplifier complaint . power amplifier is damaged .Replace the component by an expert
