Not the transformer. probably needs a voltage ic or output ic. F61 is a voltage error code. if it was the power tranformer it would not power up at all. It also could be just a bad fan. The fan should start as soon as you turn it on.

For others, the fan on this model only runs with the volume turned way up, to test it unhook the speakers and play something like the radio with the volume set to 0dB, the fan should run.

pop cover plug in with med to light pressure on the heat sink press down gently and push one way just a tad , press power , see how long to shut down. do same other direction. what you should find is that the solder connections are bad and need to be redone. this is not the first pan. that has had this problem, some of there other stereos do to.

Sound like the unit might be in progressive scan mode and the tv cannot display it correctly. Try finding a button on the remote that says progressive scan and see if you can turn it off.

So what's different? The TV. Anything else like the video type (s-video, composite, component)?

Perhaps if you described what cable is carrying video and the point-to-point connection to the TC-L42D2 we'd understand what isn't working.

Sounds like your tv doesn't have componant video in, just composite video. Try the yellow video out on the dvd player to the same video in on the tv. The red and white on the tv is for audio left and right.

I have a similar Pan. HT system and I suspect you will have to go through the main menu and look for settings regarding 'tamper-proofing' to prevent just such 16 month-olds from inserting their jelly bread into the DVD player.
Your system may differ from ours but you should be able to find that feature in your user manual.

My unit will load my Dvd's and Cd's, but as it attempts to read the Dvd's, it starts and stop and it making a click sound as the back on the right side .i dont know why,can you help?

I think we have the same problem only mine is flashes an F61 on the display then shuts itself off.

from what i heard this is a common problem with this unit (mine included). apparently it cost more to fix than buying a new one.
