don't have the original remote control, I used the time warner control, I just reprogramed to control my tv without the cable box, I put the volume all the way up in the tv, then down to zero, and at the same time I hold the 0 key in the remote control, after that the screen said lamp has been reset to zero, I repeated this step because a lamp red light stayed on, after this only the power green light only stays, when installing the new lamp make sure is all the way in, you can use the white out to mark exactly where you have to push or put in the new lamp, it may not been all the way in, hope this help someone !!

There's is ballast kit for this TV I fixed too many of these.
Be very carefull! not to damage a very fragile flat cable when you try pulling the Boards or Chassis. This cable is on the left hand side of the light engine. The ballast kit part# is LSUC0022.
You may wana hire a TV tech if you are not an Electronic technician.

Best of luck

Turn on the television after the new DLP bulb and housing are inserted into the chassis.

  • 2 Move close enough to the set to reach it easily. Hold the "VOL" button on the front of the television, while holding the "SPLIT" button down on the remote. Do this for 5 seconds. Note that some models require holding the "PIP" button on the remote in lieu of the "SPLIT" key. Verify which model is relevant prior to beginning the process.
  • 3 Verify that the reset took by waiting for a message to appear on-screen indicating a successful reset. Additionally, the "LAMP" indicator on the front of the television will go out.

Repeated 5 blinks indicates there is a short circuit with either with its 140VDC power supply line, or the absence of 140VDC itself from the main power regulator board. You must have an excellent knoledge in electronics to work with this fault. If you have, just measure the 140VDC power supply form the main power regulator board. Just measure it with a Hi_Quality Digial multimeter. Never use an analoge multimeter for this purpose as, it may make harm to other internal circuits of your tV. If this voltage is found abnormal, [2% error is accepatable], that is, this voltage must be within 138 to 142VDC. A very skilled job indeed. If you ar enot sure with, get this TV repaired, either by any well experienced seevice techinican, or by the authorisied service center for Panasonic at your town. Never play with the circuit boards of this set without proper knoledge in electronics. It will make things worse. OK.

Flashes of the LED light at the front panel for every 5 secs. has a corresponding error code. Please let me know the status of them (Power, Temp, Lamp LED light) how many times they will blink and its color to determine where the fault came from and assist you further.

so this is a projector , if the unit is turning off and giving led signal error like green flashing, your bulb needs a replacement. its a warning that it has nearly end of his lamp life. dust and poor ventilation can shorten the lamp life. its a good idea to clean the blower and ventilation inside the projector.

Please let me know what is the status of the LED light at the front panel (Power, Temp, Lamp) after the shutdown. If an error is detected it will flash the no. of error code for every 5 secs. It will help to narrow down the symptoms.
Also, clean the vent(keep away all obstruction) from dust build up to have a sufficient air flow inside the unit. Excessive heat will produced a subsequent shutdown.

replace the main CBA is usually the cause with the 5 blinks

Usually a blinking yellow light means the lamp needs changed. If it has not been changed in the last 3 years it should be anyway. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4168009-change_lamp_in_dlp_projection_tv which explains the hows and whys of changing the lamp as well as where to get the lamps at the best price/quality.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Panasonic PT50LC13 lamp indicator blinks to tell you the lamp is faulty.

You need to replace the bulb or TY-LA1000 lamp assembly. This link displays all Panasonic TV Lamps and TV Bulbs. This page shows Panasonic lamp location and How to Replace TYLA1000 bulb. TY-LA1000 Bulb Replacement requires the use of a long Philips Screwdriver to reach screws within the lamp cage.

Unplug AC power before removing the lamp and re-install all doors, etc, correctly before starting the TV. Vacuum any visible dust or lint from air vents and lamp area. Do not used forced air to blow out dust, big problems may result.

The user's manual has a description of what the Blinking LED indicators mean.

That indicates your color wheel or optical block is bad. Repairs are usually pretty costly. Around 1100 to 1300 dollars. Hope this helps.
