Not likely available unless you stumble over a Panasonic service tech willing to steal. 'Sam's' was once the source for service literature but the proliferation of brands and models is too great to keep up with.

my tv pt-47wx42f turns on eor 8 secunds an than turns off

i need the service manual as well, if possible (i'm just having a red horizontal convergence issue).

also, any advice on what to do would be swell!

The fix for the air filter problem also you are probably getting the on screen message clogged filter also. It can be repaired by relacing the light engine (VERY EXPENSIVE) or remove the light engine and clean the filter much less cost infact none if you know how.
To clean the filter you must remove light engine and you will see at the top a black housing with two screws that must be removed to remove light engine.
A service maual on how to remove light engine is very helpful wich can be ordered on the internet. Any way you want to remove 4 screws from the housing you will then see the filter and 4 more screws to remove in all four corners, remove the screws and then pry the rectangular filter out of the assembly. This may take some effert so be careful. Look at filter through light it will probably be dirty wash with water and blow it out with comprssed air look at it through to insure it is clean then reinstall .Reassemble and you should be good to go.

Convergence is dead.Know how to solders?Must replaced the 2 convergence ICS,and all those resistors.Tries Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com for the convergence kit.Replaced what in the kit,ur tv will be back to normal.

hello it sound like convergance ic might be the trouble it's a big job to do yourself a lot of testing and a lot of desoldering and soldering get a quote from an engineer

Instal the convergence repair kit for your model, You can get it from www.tvrepairworld.com and it also includes the Cd with instructions.

the remote button has change resistance... its a carbon film resistor on board.. cleaning

if you are handy with screw driver i suggest you remove all cd,dvd or anything you got on top of the unit and remove the back panel from this tv after you unplug the unit of course .first thing you want to do is clean your lenses most time dirt ,bugs,etc and other materials get logged on the lenses also make sure you dont spray directly any cleaning product on the lens make sure you spray a rag or some sort of cleaning towel.
after you finished doing this clean the front panel as well were screen is also clean the silver board thats in there as well.after you finish all of this replace all of the screws and boards back on and give it little while to dry off .turn it on see if u still have the lines if you do then your problem lies in the lenses they might be cracked.
if there not you might have bad electrode or power diode going bad.

The problem is with the EEPROM in the TV that needs to be reprogrammed. But you need to have the proper Correction Tool (LSUQ0100).
I don't think it's available to the public. Call a Service Company, but make sure they have the “Correction Tool”.

Go to menu then do Auto program

Replace both of your STK ICs they are big black ICs will have # on them example STK392-110 Call Mats 1-800-628-1118

Replace your convergence ICs they will have Part number on them example STK-392-110 they are big black ICs Call Mats for Parts 10.95 each 1-800-628-1118

3 blinks is short protection on this model---98% chance one of the two STK-392-110 Convergence chips it uses has shorted.

If you unplug set and look inside you will find two black chips that have that number printed on the front of them in white letters. Right in front of them you will find about a dozen light blue resistors---most are marked 2.2 ohms---look if you get a chance---if even one of those resistors is white in the middle (discolored) you have found your problem.

Both chips and any bad resistors need to be replaced.

The repair involves getting at the parts and replacing them--the chips each are mounted side by side on metal heat sinks with fins--each has 18 pins.

Most shops get 300 or more for this repair but the actual parts cost if you or someone you know can do it is under 30 dollars.

I have START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS SET. I got a notice from a lady who used them to fix the same set you have---she saved the set and a lot of money.

The instructions tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair----clearly I do not know how much skill you have---it involves soldering etc.

If you want the instructions I will post them here for you to look at and copy/ paste them. Once you read them you should know if you can do the repair------they are my own instructions based on doing this repair hundreds of times.

I will also post a photo here showing what the chips look like.

Repair takes me about 1 hour; if you are doing it for the first time it will take you longer.

I also know the best place to get the chips at reasonable price.

Thats the 140 Volt error. Usually caused by the bridge connectors that connect the two circuit boards or the red HV cable from the flyback not being connected properly

THE RETURN CAP IN THE VERTICAL OUTPUT CIRCUIT IS GOING BAD

I've posted this solution several times but here goes. Try setting up the convergence through the menu by accessing the convergence setup menu. If this fails to work you have a bad digital convergence box and need a tech to replace it. About $60 to $100 fix.
